About the adventure

Nestled a few hundred miles outside of Oregon lies the sleepy island town of Braxtenport, a once booming location for fishing and tourism now nearly abandoned save for a small community of folks. However, its not just the lack of visitors and empty nets that plague this island: strange and unexplainable things have been occurring: people claim to see shadowy figures hovering menacingly outside their windows at night. They avoid the woods due to the strange inhuman sounds that come out of them. People will occasionally go missing for extended periods of time, only to wander back into town with cryptic markings on their bodies and no memories of the last few days. You're a member of the International Paranormal Investigative Service (or I.P.I.S.) sent to address the rampant supernatural activity in Braxtenport. Will you and your team of monster hunters discover the mysteries surrounding the island and defeat the creatures abound, or will you be like countless others and fall to the town's dark power? That's up to you and your dice to decide...

How to prepare

Please have a discord account and at least a working microphone and headphones. I prefer to play with my camera on because I feel like it adds to the gameplay, but I don't want to pressure you to do so if that's not your jam. As for gameplay, please have at least 2 six-sided dice, your character sheet, and a pencil (if you're playing with a printout). I can give you a rundown of the game and answer whatever questions you have on my discord server before we play.

What I provide

Monster of the Week is a very roleplay heavy game. I have my own copy of the rulebook but other than that, I'll just be brining the story and monsters and NPC voices. Lots of monsters and LOTS of NPC voices.

Gameplay details

This game will address themes of horror, adventure, and mystery. There will more than likely be moments where the lives of the player characters and NPCs will be at stake. Before the game, we'll have a conversation going over any sort of triggers or scenarios that the party would like to avoid.

How will character creation work

We'll be starting you at level one, seeing as how characters level up fast in MotW games. I can create your character sheet for you or you can do it yourself, however you'll want to have it ready before the session so that we can get you as much game time as possible. Below is the link to the resources (including character sheet templates) for the game: https://www.evilhat.com/home/monster-of-the-week-resources/

Players can expect
