About the adventure

Monster Mash is a weekly Dungeons and Dragons 5e one-shot where you can test out a new character, play an old favorite, or hit the randomize button and see what you get! What makes Monster Mash unique from other one-shots is that the setting, theme, and monsters will be a different SURPRISE each week. Players can roll for hints at the top of the session but quick thinking and versatility is the name of the game. **Because of the fast-paced, combat oriented gameplay, Monster Mash is NOT recommended for brand new players. Some experience in D&D 5e will be extremely helpful if you want in on the action!

Additional Details

How to prepare

- Players will NEED to have a device compatible with Zoom (camera and microphone), and a D&D Beyond account (the basic free account is great - Liz enables content sharing via the campaign link). - Players who participate in Monster Mash should be familiar with D&D 5e rules and have a basic understanding of the class/subclass they are playing (It's absolutely alright to try out a new class, but take at least a quick look before the session starts). - DM Liz provides digital dice via D&D Beyond and Owlbear Rodeo but encourages players to use IRL dice if they prefer!

What I provide

D&D Beyond content and compendium access, Safety Tools, Zoom link/hosting

Gameplay details

Monster Mash - as with all games run by Liz - utilize Safety Tools. One of the core concepts of Monster Mash is the element of surprise for bother players and their character creations, but Liz (the DM) is committed to a safe table for all players. If a player wishes to participate, but are concerned about content and their needs at the table, a player is more than welcome to private message Liz in advance with any content concerns before claiming their spot in the adventure. **Players can find the TTRPG Safety Toolkit at bit.ly/ttrpgsafetytoolkit**

How will character creation work

Upon securing a seat at the table, players will be informed of the level (8-13, depending on the one-shot chosen) and equipment specifics and sent a link to a D&D Beyond Campaign - "Liz's Virtual Menagerie." Players may then drop in their own premade creations (if they already have a D&D Beyond account), create a new character, or hit the randomize button and hoep for the best. Characters will be "deactivated" at the end of the session, but players will still have access to deactivated character sheets and will be able to export them via PDF. - Players may use Standard Array or Manual Rolled for ability scores, based on player preference - Liz is happy to answer any questions that come up in character creation at the beginning of the session or via private message beforehand, but players should expect to come with a mostly prepared or complete character in the Menagerie ready to go.
