About the adventure

🩸Welcome Mist Walkers🩸 Curse of Strahd is one of the most well loved modules in all of D&D and for good reason! You will be stepping into the lands of Barovia, a mist encompassed landscape full of horror and mystery, where you will set out to free the people from their foggy cage, discover the reason behind the mist itself and meet/face off against the famous Strahd Von Zarovich: The First Vampire. All the while exploring a rich setting, with delightful characters of all kinds and discovering why your characters were chosen in the first place. If this sounds like a good time for you, then keep reading, my friends! I will be running a slightly modified version of the base CoS campaign to make sure there’s even more depth to the story itself and most importantly, make sure that YOUR characters feel like they have a real purpose in coming to Barovia that will tie their backstory and goals to the campaign itself, instead of just feeling like they’ve been pulled along for the ride. There will be unique, exciting and terrifying combat encounters for my players to enjoy that will keep them on the edge of their seats and have them think about more than just taking an enemy down to 0HP (even though that will be a thing because that’s also fun!) This game will be starting at level 1 or 3 depending on the players and should go all the way to level 11/12 which is typically the sweet spot for D&D and is open to players of all experience levels. I am happy to be a guide to new players to the game and make sure they feel comfortable and confident with how to play the game! How to prepare

A webcam & microphone with good internet connection. Accounts for Roll20, Zoom, Discord. Have a character in mind that can fit the theme of CoS but we can build them together if needed!

What I provide

This campaign is not just about Barovia. This campaign is about your characters, why they were chosen to come to Barovia and how their personal goals can be achieved in it. I will be spending the time leading to the main game, asking you questions about your characters and building CoS to make sure you feel like your characters have a real and personal purpose for entering the mists. Regarding the sessions themselves, expect all three pillars of play! You’ll be given the chance to meet a whole bunch of wonderfully memorable characters of which I will be providing the very best voices I can do for them! I will introduce unique, exciting and dangerous encounters that aren’t always just about taking the enemies down to 0HP! (Even though, that is really fun too and will happen occasionally) and of course I will be open to any kind of creative play! The lands of Barovia themselves are filled with incredible locations with their own little mysteries to explore and we may even be exploring things beyond the lands of Barovia itself! We will be running our sessions on Zoom and using Roll20 for maps and background music. I will be setting up the campaign on D&D Beyond, to make it easy for me to pay attention to your character sheets!

Gameplay details

Session 0s are extremely important to me. It gives me an opportunity to speak to my players about what to expect in the game itself, anything they don’t want to see hear being depicted and getting an understanding of play style. There will always be an opportunity for players to pause the game if I’d gets too intense and we will respect those moments as player safety always comes first.

How will character creation work

This will be done before the first session and can be done through the week leading up to the main session. This will give me a chance to talk to you about your characters, their goals and how we can tie them into the main story. They will begin at either 1 or 3 depending on the players as a group (will be decided on session 0) Stats will be done via The Dungeon Dudes standard array: 17, 15, 13, 12, 10, 8. This array allows for characters to have one clear strength and weakness while allowing a more flexible approach to potential builds, all the while making sure that each character is equal from the start.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
