About the adventure

For this session we will be using the Mini Six game system, a slimmed down version of the Open D6 system originally published by West End Games. There are quite a few games out there using this system, which offer a variety of different settings. As such it will be up to the players to decide which one they would like to play. The choices are: Breachworld: A post-apocalyptic setting in which a global disaster has open rips in space (breaches) that collapsed society overnight and continue to bring monsters, aliens, and otherworldly environments to Earth. The Mighty Six: A modern day superhero game. Sky D6: An air combat game set in a devastated world. In 1939 a catastrophe nearly destroyed the earth, leaving only small pieces of land separated by vast empty space. Flying is now the only way to travel. Paranormal Investigators & Exterminators (PIE): A game inspired by Ghostbusters in which players fight ghosts, demons and the things that go bump in the night. Rocket Rangers: A light-hearted pulp science fantasy setting done in the tradition of Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers, and John Carter of Mars. If there is enough interest, this session may serve as the beginning of a campaign.

How to prepare

A free Roll20 account and mic are required to play this game. Video is not required but encouraged. It would also be helpful for players to flip through the Mini Six rulebook ahead of time (it's short). It can be downloaded for free from Drivethru RPG: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/144558/Mini-Six-Bare-Bones-Edition Also, players should let me know ahead of time which setting they would prefer to play in (top 3 choices) so I can count the votes and select the setting. During sessions, please feel free to use either physical dice or a dice roller app. You can also make dice rolls through the virtual tabletop on Owlbear Rodeo. Also, if you would like to use specific artwork for your character tokens, please submit them prior to the start of the game session.

What I provide

I will provide all digital materials including rules and handouts, as well as some sound effects and ambiance, through the Roll20 site. And a virtual tabletop will be set up via Owlbear Rodeo, which will have the game maps and tokens to represent characters.

Gameplay details

I generally try to keep the content of my games PG to PG-13 and steer clear of any subject matter that might make players uncomfortable. However, in order to maintain a safe environment for all players, the following safety tools will be put in place: Lines and Veils, and X-Cards. A full description of these can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LI-Q83byzDxJudkK49s4raaff5WH1QF5/view?usp=sharing If you have any questions or concerns regarding this, please let me know.

How will character creation work

Character creation may vary slightly per setting, but will generally follow rules described in the Mini Six rulebook (pg 4): 1. Distribute 12 dice between the four attributes. No attribute may have less than one nor more than four dice assigned to it. 2. Distribute 7 dice to skills and perks. No skill may have more than two dice assigned to it at character creation. 3. Select Complications. 4. Choose Gear If players are able to build your character ahead of time great, otherwise they can be created at the beginning of the session.
