About the adventure

Something is wrong in the town of Minsor Vale. You've come here in wait for a passenger ship to Baulder's Gate, but when you arrive it's become apparent that somebody was killed by an animal, which isn't uncommon until you hear of haunted islands, horrid howls in the night, and a bloody history of conflict. There's more to Minsor Vale than a simple fishing town with a declining population. In this 2-3 Session long Murder/Mystery adventure for 4th level characters, players must investigate the Town of Minsor Vale and uncover the secrets it holds before it's too late. Using unique creatures from Kobold Press's amazing collection of monster books, and homebrew combat rules, players will find disturbing clues, terrifying reveals, and intense - heart pounding combat encounters.

How to prepare

Launch TaleSpire ahead of time, make sure your resolution is correct and the program works as intended. You will need a microphone Have a Discord account made and make sure to join when I send your invite link. Download BeyondtheSpire for Firefox or Google Chrome beforehand as well: https://beyondthespire.com/ Using this tool is very easy, just be sure to turn off dice rolling on your Beyond character sheet by clicking the gear next to the character name and the switch will be on the menu that pops up. Your character's stats, hit bonuses and damage dice will be highlighted and when you click them while Beyond the Spire is active it will send your bonuses to TaleSpire and you can roll them in game.

Gameplay details

SAFETY: This game will contain violent content, may contain descriptions of gore, harsh language, spiders, cannibalism, body horror, and references to torture and sacrifice - at the start of the game we will go over lines and veils, lines being things that have no business appearing in a game meant to be fun and engaging and veils being things that can be hinted at but not focused on, like pulling the curtains over a scene. If at any time you as the player feel uncomfortable you can send me a message during the game and I will discontinue any further reference to the subject. Most of my games will contain adult language (R) and I will allow it from players as long as it is purely for fun or used for expression in character - I expect my players to be kind and courteous towards each other always. Name calling, and major PC betrayals are hard lines for my games. The rogue can pickpocket the paladin, but I draw the line at killing fellow PC's for any reason. Otherwise murder hobos are okay in my books as well.

How will character creation work

Create a level 4 character on D&D Beyond using a standard array. Use standard starting equipment and 250 Gold. I will be giving everyone a link to the discord shortly after accepting your application, if you'd like to work with me on making your character or want to shoot ideas off just send me a message and we can talk about it.
