Maid: The RPG (One and Fun Favor Race)

About the adventure

Maid is a rules-lite hilarious game packed with all the insanity of weird servants vying for the favor of an equally weird master where everyone's characters, the master you (theoretically) serve, and the setting are all randomly generated. Half the fun is figuring out a coherent narrative of how everyone's backgrounds make sense together! No preparation is necessary, aside from being ready for a wild ride. (Specifically, we'll be playing the "Favor Race" style: a single day in the maids' life as each tries to accumulate the most Favor from their master.)

How to prepare

Players will need a mic and webcam as well as accounts on Discord and Roll20. Players should connect on the dedicated Discord server and Roll20 game ahead of time. Reading the basic rules beforehand is preferred, but not strictly required.

What I provide

I'll bring my own copy of the rulebook and a Tabletop Simulator setup for the game.

Gameplay details

Games of Maid can include light-hearted romantic tension, power dynamics, and references to traumatic events, so discussion about boundaries beforehand and the following safety tools will be in use.

How will character creation work

Characters are generated at the beginning of play through largely random rolls, though there's some outlet for player choice in the rolls and final interpretation of the background is up to the player.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
