About the adventure

Deep in the foothills surrounding Neverwinter, a quiet war is brewing. Creatures of the forest and outlaws have begun to prey upon travelers and towns more viciously and more frequently than ever. Gundren Rockseeker knows why, and he, along with his kin, aren't keen on letting the secret slip, or losing their stake to enemies unknown. No room for amateurs, no room for mistakes; the stakes are higher than ever before, and the spider's web is pulling all parties to a single strand: The Lost Mines of Phandelver, and the secrets buried within. Most 5e players have already played Phandelver, and there wouldn't be any reason to return, unless, of course, the game had changed. This level 5 adventure will be full of mechanically advanced combat, deadly traps and foes, more developed plot lines, and far less predictability. With dragons hiding in lairs, gangs of thugs working mischief in settlements and on the roads, and goblins laying in wait for the unwary traveler, or in sequestered in caverns, plotting evil, there are no short to jobs, adventures, or foes in this Redux of a classic adventure in Dungeons and Dragons.

Gameplay details

This will be a good mix of mystery solving, combating foes and monsters, and exploring lost places in search of fame and fortune. The rules will be played as RAI, but with the "Rule of Cool" involved; Not much hombrew or optional complications, but for the sake of fun and story, things can be changed or added if necessary. It's all part of the collaborative storytelling that defines Role-Playing Games. Roleplay will be involved and expected, but it is introductory in nature, there is no expectation of voice acting or staying "in-character" as often as more experienced players might. Combat will be a fairly constant occurrence, not bogging down the story, but bringing the action and stakes for the players to the forefront. Complex, intense combat could be waiting around any corner. There are puzzles and hidden plots within the adventure, something the players should feel free to explore and pursue during play. This game is a redux, a rebalanced, improved and adjusted version of the classic we all know and love.
