About the adventure

Lost Mine of Phandelver is the,highly rated, official D&D 5E starter set that is great for beginners and vetrans as well. It is revised and included in the new module, Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk, which we will play through. Playing from level 1-12! The setting is Fantasy and takes place in the Forgotten Realms, Faerun, on the Sword Coast, around the small town of Phandalin. The journey begins with the party being hired to escort Gundren Rockseeker from the large city, Neverwinter to the small frontier town of Phandalin. You've heard Gundren and his brothers have discovered something beyond words!! The game will be played via text on discord with avrae and D&D Beyond and can be played on most cel phones and tablets, so you'll have D&D in your pocket! This is a asynchronous Play by Post (PbP) game, which means you get a daily dose of D&D at your leisure! Playing in this style takes the pressure off of making split second decisions and you dont have to worry about matching schedules. This format allows us to literally write a fantastic imaniginative story together at a comfortable pace. I check in often throughout the day to play and keep it flowing. Payment is made once a week.

How to prepare

You will need to have discord (free) and a D&D beyond account (free) No webcam or mic are necessary as this will be Play-by-Post (text) on Discord. Basic game rules can be found on D&D beyond, but learning as you go with a friendly DM and group (us) is the best way to learn.

What I provide

I will offer a few official publications (ie. Players's Handbook, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, and the DMG for aspiring DMs) to share with you via D&D Beyond's share system while you are playing in my games. I also have a few modules to share for fellow dms. Maps, images and battlemaps will be used as needed, but theatre of mind is best initially for ultimate immersion. I do like to post art after monsters have been described. I provide a safe gaming space, free of racism and bigotry, open to All. Let's unlock our imaginations and write an unforgetable story together!

Gameplay details

The percentage of the 3 pillars of gameplay, Combat, Roleplay and Exploration will be determined based on what the majority of the group prefers as every group is different. Personally I prefer a balanced game and do enjoy tactical combat. I love giving npcs distinct personalities and watching the party roleplay with them and each other. Session 0: We will go over any fears or phobias players have to ensure the game is fun and stress free. We will discuss what level of narrated fantasy violence is comfortable for everyone. We will discuss your character's backstory, so we can tie it into the adventure. We will determine whether your characters have any previous relationship to each other, ie. Friends, siblings, former soldiers, classmates, etc.

How will character creation work

Characters will begin at level 1 and gain levels until 5. If we continue our journey together after the main module is complete, then players will gain higher levels. You can create your character before hand via d&d beyond, or together during session 0. If you have a class in mind beforehand please let me know.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
