About the adventure

Level 20 one shot. Give it your best. Content Warning - This adventure contains depictions of body horror, torture, and dismemberment. This one-shot adventure takes place in a wizard tower owned by three scholars—Kalene, Aden, and Brin—who were researching ancient magics. All of a sudden the tower, mages and all their researched vanished. After a detailed investigation the tower was discovered to have been planeshifted to Limbo, a plane of chaos. The party is sent to Limbo to investigate the tower, retrieve all research, and destroy whatever evil that has taken it.

How to prepare

Players will need to have there character sheet filled out and ready to play before the session begins. I am happy to assist anyone who needs it with putting their sheet together. I also have a couple of pre-generated characters availiable and ready to play. No webcam is necessary, but a well functioning headset with microphone is mandatory. Players will need a Roll20 and Discord accounts, both are free. If you require any assistance with any of this I will do whatever I can to assist, just reach out.

I will have maps and tokens prepared for combat and exploration.

Gameplay details

Players will first explore the tower, in an attempt to understand it mysteries. The exploration will be followed by an intense combat against one of D&D's most evil & powerful villans.

How will character creation work

Make a level 20 character! We are using the "Elite Array" for starting character ability scores, instead of "standard array" or "point buy." Elite Array is as follows- 17,15,13,12,10,8. I find it helps players advance their characters quicker. - All WotC material is approved. If you want to use some UA, just bring it up to me, I will probably approve. I would just like a heads up. - Multiclassing and feats are fine if you’re into that kind of thing. - 400 additional starting gold, to be spent on any extra armor, weapons, or equipment from chapter 5 of the Players Handbook. No mounts or vehicles will be necessary, but it’s your money. Spellcasting Players are expected to be aware of the spells they select, and any costly components will need to be purchased with the starting gold provided before the game. *The "Chill Touch" cantrips additional effect WILL NOT function against any creature with Legendary or Mythic actions. It will instead deal an additional 1d8 necrotic damage on a hit.* Magic Items Each player has 10 points to use towards what magic items or additional starting gold it wants for their character. The points work as follows. - 1 point for a common magic item, or 500 gold pieces - 3 points for an uncommon magic item - 4 points for a rare magic item - 7 points for a very rare magic item - 9 points for legendary magic item. No artifacts are permitted. No items with the ability to grant or cast wishes, ie. the wish spell. Do keep in mind that each character only has 3 attunement slots.
