About the adventure

I'll be running this with a session zero and three sessions of the adventures included with Red Clearance edition that are designed to get you quickly into the swing of the wild world of Alpha complex. I've had the pleasure of having them run for me blind and I can say they do a fantastic job, with the third session being my absolute favorite. Paranoia itself is a very narratively based system that often flies fast and loose, and new players shouldn't expect to need to do all too much reading going in. Welcome to paranoia, where you don't know what the heck is going on and you shouldn't trust anyone- including your fellow players. This is a goofy sci-fi game about being a nearly worthless clone in a big, rotting, malfunctioning facility. Said facility is run by your friendly Friend Computer who's there to protect you and help root out all the baddies that wander the halls. There are crazy secret society members, mutants and terrorists abound, and worse, you're one of them! You are a mutant who (probably) belongs to one or more secret societies that currently works as a troubleshooter within the sprawling and unfathomably large halls of Alpha complex, and unbeknownst to you, your fellow players could also be the same! (I'm committing a sin by removing the dramatic tension here, but they are.) Rat your friends out and please Friend Computer to gain some hard earned XP, spend it to increase your clearance level, gain dangerous weapons, and otherwise advance your position within Alpha Complex so that (theoretically) your existence gets a little less uhhh... suspect. Character creation is something that happens at the table, don't be too worried about that.

How will character creation work

Character creation happens during session 0, and will be done "collaboratively". Paranoia is weird. If you aren't familiar with this system of character creation, I actually recommend going in blind and without any prepared character concepts.
