What is this game? 🔹 Candela Obscura is a rules-light mystery-driven game where you and your friends play as a group of supernatural investigators. It uses an elegant, dynamic and easy-to-learn d6 system. It allows to us to build deep and rich storylines together by focusing on the narrative over mechanics (which exist to support the storytelling, not get in the way of it). The game also emphasizes investigation over violent confrontation: although you will fight monsters, combat is not the main focus of gameplay. What is does "Candela Obscura" mean? 🔸 "Candela Obscura" means "black candle", which is a reference to how these items historically been deeply intertwined with ancient rituals and mysticism. Candela Obscura is also the name of the paranormal secret society charged with protecting the sprawling, turn-of-the-century city of Newfaire — a place built atop the ruins of an ancient, fallen civilization still teeming with the remnants of powerful magick. What is magick? 🔹 Though we’ve worked to collect knowledge of the arcana over the centuries, our understanding of these phenomena is still limited. We know they come from a realm beyond our own, but what they want and why they’re here — that is still a mystery to us. What will I do as a Candela Obscura investigator? 🔸 As part of this organization, you will traverse the wide landscape of the Fairelands — facing off against unfathomable horrors within the crowded downtown streets, investigating strange disappearances in the cornfields of the countryside, even delving into the writhing underground ruins — to help us stop these powerful supernatural beings from tearing the world apart.

How will character creation work

We will create our characters and Circle (investigator group) together at the start of the first session. The process is simple and straightforward, allowing you to quickly create unique characters deeply connected to the world. Pre-generated characters are also available. In Candela Obscura, you can play as one of the following Roles (classes) and Specialties (subclasses): 🕴️ Face: Journalist or Magician 💪🏽 Muscle: Explorer or Soldier 👓 Scholar: Doctor or Professor 👤 Slink: Criminal or Detective 🔮 Weird: Medium or Occultist

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
