About the adventure

Whether because of Stranger Things or actual play shows like Dimension 20 or Critical Role, you may know about Dungeons and Dragons but don't know how to get started. This 12-week program will not only teach you the fundamentals of the game, but will give you the tools to run your own campaign! You will make characters, play short adventures, and craft your first adventure to run. Be aware that this course will require time and effort outside of our scheduled sessions; commitment to reading the Player's Handbook is a minimum. This is not restricted to adults; however, Dungeons and Dragons at its core is a combat-centric game and therefore mature themes surrounding violence are likely. Tools will in place to facilitate safety, but it's hard to remove violence from Dungeons and Dragons without ignoring many of the rules. This course is designed for new or inexperienced players and the target audience is a group of friends looking to get into the hobby or families looking to spend time together being creative. Online games will happen via Google Meet, with Roll20 or DnDBeyond.com as resources. In-person games will take place at Steward's Rest RPG B&B in Bismarck.
