    About the adventure

Hello Students, We will conduct an introduction to getting started with Fantasy Grounds as a player. By the end of the session, you will have a character of your own to import into any D&D game running on Fantasy Grounds. You should be familiar with the types of characters in the Player’s Handbook so you have an idea of what you want to make. This will be a classroom lecture format. The Instructor will share their screen so you can watch. You will need to download Fantasy Grounds and follow along making your character in a similar manner to the Instructor. We will not be giving guided or individualized instruction in this lesson. Other sessions may be setup for individualized instruction in the future. This is not a theory class on the best decisions to make during character development. It is also not a how basic how to play D&D class. You will need a basic familiarity with the Backgrounds, Races, and Classes in the Player’s Handbook to make these decisions prior to class. We will not be going into the “why” of game mechanics, only which buttons to press in Fantasy Grounds to execute those game mechanics. An overview of the lesson plan: 1) How to turn on books and modules 2) Character creation (background, race, class) 3) Inventory management 4) The Actions Tab, the heart of your sheet 5) The Party Sheet 5) Combat Tracker 6) Mock Battle 7) Q&A Please download prior to the session. If you need to cancel prior to the session please refer to the FAQ NOTE: Instructor reserves the right to cancel if the session is a no show by 5 minutes after the planned start time.
