About the adventure

One-shot of Kids on Brooms! You play as a group of kids attending a magic school going on adventures and getting in and out of trouble. We decide the setting and the theme together, and then I completely improvise the session! We'll discuss the tone and scope in the room, but it's whatever your group is looking for. If you are completely new to the game, it is a snap to learn and I am more than willing to teach it.

How to prepare

You will need to have a mic connection at the very least. I prefer a camera as well, but it isn't mandatory. I mainly use Role, so you will need a (free) account there, but if that's too much hassle we can meet on Zoom or Google Meet or whatever. There is no need to read the rules beforehand, I got you! I can either send you a PDF of the character sheets, or you can just use the ones in Role. Role provides all the necessary dice, but I do love to hear those things clacking around, so roll 'em if you've got 'em.

Gameplay details

I'll go over my preferred safety tools (Lines and Veils, VCR, and others) at the top of the session and discuss what is preferred for your group. I also like to ask for any subjects or themes that should never be part of the game so I know to avoid those. Xs, Ns, and Os can either be voiced publicly or sent in the chat. Session 0 is baked into the game and will cover character relationships, world-building, and tone. I like to be collaborative in the character-building phase so I'll ask you about your character, but I also encourage the other players to add things they think are interesting. Final decisions are of course up to the individual players. It's not mandatory, but I like to do a 30-minuteish debrief at the end of the game. Just a discussion of what you liked and didn't like, what worked and what didn't, and a chance to exhale.
