About the adventure

I started playing D&D when I was 10 years old. My first introduction came when I was seven and I saw the animated Hobbit movie for the first time. Later it was the first Final Fantasy, Dragon Warrior, Legend of Zelda, Ultima, and Phantasy Star games. Finally it was the board game Heroquest. I played with my friends and messed up all the complex rules. I only had one book and everything else we made up from movies and video games. But hey, Aragon, Conan, and Merlin made a heck of a team! If you are a experienced player that is more interested in having fun then gritty tactile combat and is looking for a group then this is for you. If you are a newer player or first time player then this is for you. The game is about 3-4 hours long and has a mix of roleplaying, combat, and puzzles. All the while exploring a desert vast with mystery and the unknown. After the game I will have some options if you like my DMing style and hopefully some of your fellow players, I will send out information on a bigger more complex adventure. If you are still reading this and interested, give it a shot. It is only a single session and who knows .... could be fun!

Additional Details

How to prepare

Download Fantasy Grounds Unity at least the demo version which is free. Also have Discord ready and a Mic. If you want to spend some time getting to use Fantasy grounds that would be useful but I will have a quick tutorial at the beginning of the session and it doesn't take long to learn, 5 minutes or so.

What I provide

This is virtual so I will have everything we need ready to go.

Gameplay details

This is a one shot designed to let new players experience D&D for the first time in a fun way. There is some roleplaying, adventure, a bit of combat with over the top villains. I ask the adults to take a step back and let the kids take first crack at the roleplaying and puzzles if there are children in the game. This is not a game of high stakes, characters can only be knocked out, not killed. If interested in games with much higher consequences let me know, but this one is more for laid back fun. There might not even be fire but Start Playing will not let me create a game without at least one content warning so I choose fire.

How will character creation work

I will have pregens made up for players to use. There will be 30 options to choose from so lots of time. If you have a character on D&D beyond, I can import them into the game as well. This is made for 6th level characters using standard array or point buy, no special items to start. Pretty much any official material goes.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
