About the adventure

In the heart of the Ethereal Plane lies an ancient and mysterious city called the Radiant Citadel. Through tradition, cooperation, and ancestral magic, fifteen civilizations are bound to this wondrous site. Journeys through the Radiant Citadel is an anthology of exciting adventures that explore the cultures and myths of these realms. The adventures in Journeys through the Radiant Citadel were created by members of the Dungeons & Dragons community with connections to various real-world cultures and mythologies. Embarking on the adventures of the Radiant Citadel will expand your gaming horizons, can give your characters new perspectives, and might change the way you look at fantasy tropes and traditions. As adventures are the lens through which we explore fantastic worlds, they shape who our characters are and what they believe in. The greater the variety adventures offer, the richer our characters and, by extension, our gaming experiences. From glittering night markets to undersea cities, from curse-afflicted villages to angel-ruled city-states, these adventures provide a pathway to never-before-seen lands and stories. The gates of the Radiant Citadel stand open, and a rich tapestry of stories is yours to explore. This campaign is split up into 13 different adventures that vary in tone and style greatly. Adventures will take you through dark and dangerous encounters, grandiose celebrations, dread filled experiences, whimsical mischief and factional intrigue. Expect a lot of variety. I will also be working to make this a connected and complete campaign through whatever the book provides, homebrew and from the backstories you provide. Before, during and after our Session 0, I will be working to make this campaign unique to you and your characters. I will encourage some collaboration, offering unique bonds, goals and secrets for your characters. This is optional; if you just want to play the main adventure content, I'm also happy to comply.

Additional Details

How to prepare

We will be using Roll20 for the VTT and Discord for Voice Chat. Character creation can be worked out during Session 0 or earlier if preferred. Backstories should be provided and can be as minimal or verbose as you like.

What I provide

I will be working to make this a connected and complete campaign through whatever the book provides, homebrew and from the backstories you provide. Before, during and after our Session 0, I will be working to make this campaign unique to you and your characters. I will encourage some collaboration, offering unique bonds, goals and secrets for your characters. This is optional; if you just want to play the main adventure content, I'm happy to comply.

Gameplay details

Players can expect a high amount of Role Play as they delve into the mysteries and intrigue of the adventures. Combat encounters are still frequent however, involving new creatures with dangerous and interesting abilities.

How will character creation work

For character creation we begin at level 2. You can use Standard Array or Point Buy (27) and will also get one free feat. Through Compendium sharing Roll20 I'll be sharing access to the Player's Handbook, Xanathar's Guide, Tasha's Cauldron, Fizban's Treasury, Strixhaven and Monsters of The Multiverse so feel free to use any of the options there. If you want to use anything beyond these sources, published or not, let me know and I’ll be happy to work something out with you. By request, we can also use D&D Beyond for character sheets and I’ll give access to my source books there too.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
