About the adventure

In a world where magic can call back the souls of friends and foes; where life is full of danger and both monsters populate lost, forgotten ruins....a death curse has fallen onto all. Those who were once brought back from the grim reaper's claws find themselves slowly decaying until those bony fingers grip their heart again. The divine powers that once could revive a broken body have been tainted and no longer hold the same sway over death. Your good friend, who was resurrected once long ago, is just another victim to this malicious power. And now you must give your final farewells at their funeral. The Harpers talk in the taverns about a great lich in Cloakenwood with vast knowledge over death. Perhaps they might have the answer as to how to end this wretched curse or perhaps they were the one who is causing it? This is a rather popular one-shot prequel to the official published adventure from Wizards of the Coast. It's got horror, high fantasy, jungle, dinosaurs and sometimes hilarious elements to it. All about journeying in a dark and dangerous wild land! My style of play is quite similar to Matt Mercer's delivery: Silly voices, descriptive narration in and out of combat, and atmospheric music!

Gameplay details

On average, you can expect about a 50/50 ratio of roleplay and combat. The beginning is roleplay, the end is combat with a traditional dungeon crawl. As we are playing on either Roll20, you can expect the combat to often be tactical, allowing each of you to carefully plot your next turn! This game is rated R for intense graphic descriptions, horror elements, and harsh language; it contains the following themes: • High Fantasy • Horror • Supernatural • Humorous • Gritty The following safety tools are available during play: • X-Card - A tool that allows anyone to edit out any content anyone is uncomfortable with as we play. Since most RPGs are improvisational and we won't know what will happen till it happens, it's possible the game will go in a direction people don't want. An X-Card is a simple tool to fix problems as they arise. • Open and Inclusive Conversation - While the X-Card is useful, it is not a replacement for conversation. If you prefer to talk about an issue that comes up instead of using the X-Card, please do!
