    About the adventure

Time-Traveling Sentient Velociraptors! An entire dimension of compressed vampires and a biopsy of the Tarrasque! A cow-sized platypus bent on destruction! Cannibals! Lots of cannibals! All these things and more await you in the gonzo-edgy-indie-artsy-absurdist-grimdark-critically-acclaimed OSR module DEEP CARBON OBSERVATORY! We'll be using the system it was designed for - Dungeons & Dragons B/X! This is the first session in a campaign: This session is $5 and will include establishing bonds and relationships between characters, and the beginning of the scenario. Future sessions will be $20.

    Additional Details

    How to prepare

No actual experience is necessary. I will explain basic rules during character creation or during the first session. I have online dice rollers you can use, although if you have your own dice at home you're welcome to use them. All you need is a mic to be heard, a camera to be seen (preferably), and a relatively quiet place to play. I will provide everything else.

    What I provide

Both versions of DEEP CARBON OBSERVATORY - the original and remastered editions. Hours spent studying the module, making notes and play aides. Pregenerated characters. My own art based on the module's style and tone. A campaign wiki/journal/forum maintained as we play 24/7 access to me via Discord (well not really...I sleep!) All the other usual stuff :)

    Gameplay details

This game will use the 1981 Dungeon Dragons Basic Expert Set, using the Old School Essentials retroclone as a reference. I will be using the Ascending Armor Class optional rule. Characters will start at 20,000 XP (5th Level for most classes). You can make your own character using the B/X rules, schedule a free meeting with me beforehand (at least 24 hours in advance) or use a pregen I will provide. We'll play in 3 to 4 hour sessions, and all images will be Scrap Princess's art from the module (both the Original and Remastered versions), the Dirk Dietwieller Leichy maps from the Remastered version, and my own original art created to mimic Scrap Princess's distinctive style. As we play, I will make PC portraits in this style for use as tokens and visual aides. I will maintain an Obsidian Portal campaign site that records adventure logs, NPCs, maps, a wiki, etc. and a dedicated Discord server for the campaign.

    How will character creation work

Characters will start at 5,000 XP (3rd Level for most classes) You can schedule a free meeting with me to make a character together (at least 24 hours in advance), or if you are familiar with the rules you can make your own and send me a copy. I have form-fillable PDFs you can use to track your character. If you join up on the day of the campaign or just don't want to make your own character, I have a full compliment of pregenerated characters you can use.
