About the adventure

Ever wanted to try Pathfinder 2e but been intimidated by the rules? Looking for a well crafted system with a ton of character customisation? Want to dip your toe into something new with the option of continuing on to a larger adventure? Then this is the place for you. The usually peaceful town of Otari has fallen on hard times as strange activity has been noticed beneath the city streets. Venture into the depths as you investigate the cause of the town's hardship and uncover the secrets that lay below. Can you help solve the towns woes or will what lurks below prove too much of a challenge? This short introductory adventure is intended to help new players learn the basics of the Pathfinder 2e system with the option of continuing on to a larger, homebrew campaign to continue exploring what the system has to offer. Pre-generated characters are available, however you're encouraged to make your own, especially if you're hoping to continue the story further!

Gameplay details

This short adventure is designed to introduce you to the world of Pathfinder 2e. To help you learn the basics of the system, whether you're coming from another game system or have never played a TTRPG before. I expect this campaign to last roughly 3 sessions, but it will depend on how quickly the group progresses. Below I've outlined some key aspects for how the game will be played: Session 0: We will have a session 0 as a way to introduce you to the system and talk through character creation or the basics of understanding how to use sheets for the premade characters. During session zero we will set out clear Lines and Veils for each individual at the table. VTT Usage: We will be using Foundry VTT as it has excellent support for Pathfinder 2e. Pre-generated characters are already built into the system, we can discuss character creation or the use of pre-builds in Session 0. Roleplay, Puzzles & Combat: As this is an introductory adventure, the scope for things like Roleplay is fairly limited, however the potential is there depending on how the players approach certain challenges.

How will character creation work

Characters will be starting at level 1. If you plan to use a pre-built character then you simply need to select which one takes your fancy in Session 0. If you intend to make your own character, I can provide guidance for this during Session 0, but you may have to finish the process on your own in between Session 0 and Session 1, so that all of the available time is not monopolised by character creation. If needed, and depending on the wants/needs of the group, we could extend Session 0 or plan another session dedicated to creating characters.

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: Medium
  • Roleplay: Medium
  • Puzzles: Low
  • Experience Level: Beginner
