🐲 Play Dungeon World, an exciting, fast-playing and easy-to-learn fantasy adventure game 🧭 Explore a dynamic "sandbox" world where your actions change and develop the story 📝 Help to create the world you explore and the places you want to discover! 🧟‍♂️ Save yourself from the deadly Slave Pits where you've been imprisoned! 📕 Play through an adventure scenario based on an all-time D&D classic from 1978, updated for Dungeon World You've been imprisoned in the nefarious Slave Pits, put to work digging tunnels deep underground with other captives. And you've just found what your captors are looking for - a mysterious stone door with the word "XALLEVRYX" carved into it! You're of no more use to your captors, and they'll certainly dispose of you in short order - it's time to team up and make your escape! Once you escape, you'll choose the kind of bold adventurer and explorer you want to play. You'll also make decisions about your people and culture and where you come from - you'll draw these on the map and make them part of the world. You'll help create a wild region to explore - will it have snow-capped mountains haunted by snow-wights, a ruined temple city occupied by a deadly snake cult, or a dangerous coastline beset by pirates? You'll help make those decisions with me and the other players. We'll all take turns drawing the map of the world we're all adventuring in, and then you get to explore and play to find out what happens when you explore it. After you escape from the Slave Pits, you'll encounter strange new threats stir in this wild frontier region. The sorcerer-queen Marchosia has been defeated, but the forces of her Great Dragon Army still plague the wilderness. The dead buried in the forests are said to rise and walk, hungering for flesh. Folk whisper that their friends and family have been taken by otherworldly transformations. And many from the ranks of the Alliance's forces and displaced refugees have taken up arms, hoping to plunder the great hidden wealth of the legendary stronghold of Xallevryx.

What I provide

We'll be using Roll20's game environment for Dungeon World, which comes with the Dungeon World Compendium with all the rules for play, and several classes for adventuring characters. You'll also get access to a Discord server we'll use to play the game using voice chat, where you can also ask questions and chat about the game. You'll create the map of the world we will explore together with me and the other players, and I'll work to transform that into a nicer-looking regional map for us to look at and refer to. As we play, I'll use both hand-drawn maps for some places we explore, and pre-made colorful art for others. I'll use exciting reference art for monsters, folk, and mysterious places you'll encounter.

Gameplay details

Once you join this campaign, you'll receive a message with a link to the Discord server we'll be using for voice chat and text chat. You'll also receive a link to an online document with an explanation of the conduct rules for the game and the safety tools we'll be using. Content warnings listed are for narrative components that might appear in the game, but may or may not be played out or described in great detail. Fantasy action, combat and conflict is a regular part of this game, though conflicts can be solved without resorting to violence. Bigotry (racism, misogyny, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, etc) is not acceptable in this game, and neither is any kind of harassment of other players. Players who engage in it will be removed from the game.

How will character creation work

You'll start with a basic character to learn how Dungeon World works as you escape the Slave Pits where you've been imprisoned. You'll decide who you are, why you came to this place, and how you got captured. Once you've made your escape, you'll choose a "playbook" for your new adventurer, and I'll guide us through completing that together. You'll be playing as part of an adventuring team with the rest of the players who escaped with you. The decisions you make about your character will help define the world we're adventuring in. For example, if you're playing a lizardfolk cleric you can decide who the lizardfolk are, where they live, what their culture is like and how they relate to the world at large, and determine the god you follow. You can draw a lizardfolk settlement on the map and name it, and make some decisions about what it's like. When we have questions about the lizardfolk, we'll ask you first to tell us the answers.

Players can expect

• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
