About the adventure
Ever wanted to play through a modern day, horror/sci-fi movie? Are you really sure? Because...you know that folks...don't always make it out alive in those movies... This game is going to be fairly beginner friendly, though more seasoned Cypher players are more than welcome! Do note, this one-shot has a horror focus, so expect some creepy imagery, and very possibly some character death. Think of it like playing through a horror movie like The Thing. Also, I do implement the X-card system. Feel free to read up on it here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1SB0jsx34bWHZWbnNIVVuMjhDkrdFGo1_hSC2BWPlI3A/edit

How to prepare
While this campaign is beginner friendly, with tips on the vtt, you will want to have some familiarity with the rules. I made a half-hour video on YouTube that I will request you watch ahead of time if you haven't already tried to learn them on your own. You don't need to memorize it, just make you you have a general idea of how things work! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cxa2X7T01Zs We'll use Discord for chat and pre-game setup, and Foundry for the game itself (no accounts needed, just a web browser).
What I provide
I have everything set up ahead of time on Foundry, including premade characters and hotkeys for rolls!
Gameplay details
This adventure is horror focused, with a nice pinch of sci-fi thrown in. There may be some gruesome descriptions, foul language, and a somewhat high potential for character death (though, backup options exist, so you won't be out of the game...). Not for kids. I would rate this a hard PG-13, learning toward R. We will use X-cards. I also require my players to fill out a Consent in Gaming form that I will link to. I ask this because I want this game to be comfortable for everyone at the table, and will anonymously have a list of Veils and Lines posted on the vtt when we play, so all players know the topics. I don't foresee a lot of challenging subject matter in this one-shot, but I want all players respected. Failure to follow this will result in a private message warning from me at first, and removable from the session after.

How will character creation work
This particular one-shot uses pre-built characters, with information about things they know, what they do on the base, and suggestions on how to play them (though I encourage you to make the character your own). The one-shot has assigned them names and genders, but if you find yourself playing a character that identifies in a way you aren't comfortable portraying, just let me know ahead of time and we can adjust them for your session.
