About the adventure

Imagine a manor, the House, where a man, the Owner, lives with his family and many, mostly unseen, little men who help whenever they can: cleaning dust, fending off insects and tending to the Heart, the fireplace. This little men, the Boggarts, love the Owner and the House, their whole world. One day, the first boggart, Big Ben, wakes up to find an empty House: the Owner is no more. Ninety seven years have passed since that fateful day. The Spriggans have occupied the second floor, the fairy have conquered the first floor, leaving the Boggarts in the Living room, and the Sluaghs have taken the Cellar with their immense numbers. The war couldn't be evaded, and left the four nations in pieces. After years of conflict the new leaders have finally agreed to a peace treaty, ending the First House War, and in the year 97 D.O. (Disappearance of the Owner) the borders will be open for the first time! Household is a narrative game of "historical" reports, telling the story of many little men and women in the five years that House Historians call "The Fragile Peace". Will you be a strong Boggart Duelist, always charming? A sly Fae Criminal with an ace up her sleave? An airheaded Spriggan with a funny gecko companion? Or maybe a Sluagh Hunter from the hellish Sawdust Desert? The choice is your. Explore the House and discover its secrets, raise your scissors and keys to fight, live through events that will shape nations!

How to prepare

Ideally you'd want: >A Discord Account >A Roll20 Account >A PC (or Mac, or Laptop) that can run both >Headphones >A Webcam (absolutely not required to use it if you don't feel like showing your face) >A Microphone (many headphones and webcams come with one) >Stable Internet Connection with unlimited data (WiFi or some nice mobile plan)

What I provide

I'll bring my knowledge of the game system, my experience and provide art to get you more immersed in the setting.

Gameplay details

As a narrative game, there are different aspects to every session. Characters can explore every corner fo the House (at their own risk someties), interact with many NPC within and outside of the cities, and fight both creatures (spiders, lizards, scolopendras...) and men. Every nation has its own customs and traditions, and adventures can be found everywhere, especially for characters that will one day be of historical relevance... Household has simple core mechanics. Every character is defined by: Nation: The Realm of the Faes, the Heart of the Boggarts, the Free Domains of the Spriggan or the Orde of the Sluagh. Defines where the character has lived until the start of the game and his first language. Civilization: Boggart, Spriggan[Undine,Sylph,Salamander], Fae or Sluagh. Defines some features (if the character is a stereotype of his race) and his Ereditary Contract. Profession: Soldier, Scholar, Hunter, Criminal, Duelist or Breeder. Defines what the characters knows and does. There are 30 abilities (Fight, Cold blood, Seduction, Etiquette,...), with a score from 2 to 7 which defines how many d6 can be used with taht ability. On a check, all dices with the same number are successes. As the number of equal figures grows, the successes obtained grow exponentially. Example: Pierre has Etiquette 6, so he throws 6 dices and gets: 1, 1, 3, 4, 4, 4. The couple of 1s count a one success, the triplet of 4s counts as three successes. If he instead got 1, 2, 4, 4, 4, 4, he would have had 6 successes!

How will character creation work

Every part of the character creation will be properly explained at the start of the session. If you're not interested in making a new character from scratch (because you want to get straight into the game or have never done it before), I can make you one or we can use one of the pre-generated characters. I'll send you the folder through my Discord.
