About the adventure

Following the directions in the cryptic message you received, it doesn’t take long before they lead you from familiar roads onto a disused trail overgrown by weeds and the roots of spindly trees. A light drizzle begins to fall as you travel. Gradually the haze and brush give way, revealing a bald hilltop. There stands a grim black tower, the last defiant turret of a long-crumbled fortress. Attached to this tower is a three-story manor house, weather beaten and veined with ivy. A porch girds the house, its sagging roof sheltering a stout front door that stands open and emits a flickering light. -------------- About the Adventure “The House of Lament” is an adventure for a party of four to six 1st-level characters, who will advance to at least 3rd level by the adventure’s conclusion. The adventure’s climax serves as a springboard into future adventures in the Domains of Dread. If you would like a short adventure of 2-4 sessions (3.5-4hours each) that brings your character up to level 3, has lots of roleplay opportunities, and ominous mystery, then this adventure is ideal for you! Furthermore, it is important to me that my games not only be welcoming of LGBT+ and BIPOC folk, but inclusive of them. Players should expect NPCs to come from a variety of backgrounds! --------------- **Applying:** Book the session on startplaying.games. If your application is chosen, I do a 15-20 minute interview on Discord with all players. This is to see if they would be a good fit for the game and party and to give the player an opportunity to ask questions. If all goes well, I will then invite you to the game on Roll20.

Additional Details

How to prepare

Players will require a decent and reliable mic. This is absolutely necessary. Create your PC here: https://ddb.ac/campaigns/join/37417893200574345 Players will also need to make a Roll20 account for visuals and Discord account for voice. The DM will be using video and players may do so as well, but it is not required of players.

What I provide

I will supply the module on Forge-Foundry as well as my expansive Roll20 Compendium.

Gameplay details

The game contains themes of murder, curses, and even torture. I utilize Lines and Veils in all my games. For more info on these terms, see here - https://rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/30906/what-do-the-terms-lines-and-veils-mean Furthermore, I have an Open Door Policy where any player at any time is welcome to step away from the computer (go AFK), no questions asked. Finally, real life discrimination of any kind is not tolerated at my table. Nor do I allow my players to roleplay any fantasy discrimination of any kind (e.g. the human fighter does not trust the barbarian because they are an orc). It is important to me that my players feel comfortable with the party.
