Horror on the Orient Express: A Horror Campaign Across 1920s Europe!
Call of Cthulhu on Discord, Roll20
About the adventure
Three identical men found dead in the same room of the Chelsea Arms Hotel. Each of them stabbed through the heart. These unexplained killings see your investigators embark on a thousand-mile journey on the legendary rail service to Constantinople. Brought together by your mutual friend, Professor Smith, you are investigators of the 1920s, working together to solve the larger mystery behind these killings. This is a long campaign, spanning 19 multi-session scenarios across several countries, as well as optional scenarios to explain origins of key moments in the campaign. **This campaign is a horror RPG. Death of player characters is not uncommon. If you are not interested in a campaign where there is a chance of your character dying or becoming an NPC under the Keeper's control, please do not apply to this game.** **SESSION ZERO** The session 0 will be discounted to $5 a person and will involve a discussion of safety tools, table expectations, and character creation. [It is the player's responsibility to cancel via the dashboard if they are unable to make the session. A guide is here: https://intercom.help/startplayinggames/en/articles/4620101-how-to-cancel-skip-or-leave-a-game.]

What I provide
I will bring my knowledge of the system and campaign, as well as my enthusiasm for the story. Handouts will be provided in session as pdfs/jpegs, but if players wish to share their address, physical copies of certain handouts may be mailed to them. I will also commission art of the ending party at the finale of the campaign for players to enjoy.
This game features horror and sanity mechanics built into the system. Chance of character death is relatively high. Content Warnings for this game may include but are not limited to: Major Character Death, Gore, Blood, Ritual Sacrifice, Self-Harm, Torture, Paranoia, Ghosts/Vengeful Spirits, Loss of Control, Historical Depictions of Mental Illness, Murder, Cults, Injury, Harm to Children and Animals Lines and Veils will be discussed during Session Zero. We will have a Safety Deck built into the Roll20 game for use during play. The game will have an Open Door Policy- players are free to leave the game for their own comfort or safety without judgement. This game is in the cosmic/eldritch horror genre and takes place in the 1920s. As such, it features extreme and dramatized depictions of mental health, illness, and stress that are not intended to reflect how these issues work in real life. In addition, it is reflective of a time period with a lessened understanding of how to approach these issues socially. As such, this game features depictions of characters losing "sanity" and "being driven mad," which players should consider before participating in a game of this nature.
