About the adventure

The colony on LV-426, Hadley's Hope, is doomed. A few days ago colonists found a derelict ship filled with alien eggs and the infestation began not long after. Now company agents are arriving on world, higherups are acting strange, and everyday it seems like someone else has gone missing! In the midst of all the chaos, you and your team were sent outside on a maintenance job when communications with home base went dark. A day has gone by and still no messages have come through. You can't wait any longer, you need to return to Hadley's Hope and find out what is really going on. The Alien RPG is a game of action and terror where players will fight to survive an encounter with the deadliest creatures in the galaxy. You will act as a team to survive while working toward your own personal goals and knocking down anything or anyone that gets in your way. Keep in mind that when everyone has their own hidden agenda, the aliens might not be as dangerous as your fellow survivors. Can you escape Hadley's Hope?

How to prepare

Players should be prepared with a microphone, access to discord, and a roll 20 account to view the game map. If players would like to use their own dice, this system uses all six sided dice and has a "panic dice" system. Players should have to distinct colors of dice to differentiate them from each other. Otherwise I will have dice at the ready and can roll for players if needed. If you want to get into the feel of things, watch one of the Alien films before we play!

I will bring character sheets, the game maps, the handbook, and dice to roll.

Gameplay details

This game features both cooperative and adversarial opportunities for players to engage with. Each player character will have one "Buddy" and one "Rival" within the play group to assist with roleplay and mechanics. Players will also each have a hidden agenda unique to each of them that they will be expected to try their best to achieve through the course of the adventure. These tools are intended to increase the paranoia of the game as even among survivors things can still be dangerous. Session 0 will cover the mechanics of this game and this will be when players may select a pre-generated character to play. During session 0 we will go over any and all questions about the game and safety. The Alien RPG can get intense and sometimes delivering on horror means violence and death can happen suddenly. If things are ever getting overwhelming players are able to call for things to cool down, for a rewind within reason, or a break to relax and come back. The goal is to deliver the experience of being in an Alien movie and the expectation should be that death and betrayal lurk behind every door. Feel free to play into tropes of the genre and the series and remember that sometimes getting caught by the monster or going down in a blaze of glory can be more fun than making it to the final credits.

How will character creation work

This is a premade adventure with premade characters ready to pick up and play. At session 0 we will do character selection and explain how their hidden agendas will play into the story.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
