About the adventure

WELCOME TO THEROS: Living gods, mythical monsters and heroic quests await you! The first session will be focused on creating and understanding the mechanics of your greek-myth inspired character, with race options being unique to this campaign. Choose from the adaptable Humans, or consider creating a cunning Centaur, lion-like Leonin, fearsome Minotaur, revelrous Satyr, or aquatic Triton! There are also two Subclass options (along with Classes and Subclasses from the core Player’s Handbook options) for the Theros setting: The Bard College of Eloquence, and the Paladin, Oath of Glory. Your character will also start with one Supernatural Gift: something that sets you apart from the common citizen. Are you one blessed with a Heroic Destiny, someone who’s destiny is hard to be denied? An Anvilwrought, sentient machine created from the fires of the forge god? An Oracle, one gifted with clear communication to the gods and their will? Work with me to decide on your character’s Gift. After character creation is complete, we will be following a provided module designed to bring Players from level 1 to level 2. This mini-campaign is an epic introduction to the world and setting. Work together with your party to discover the secret of a masked dead man. Can your party uncover the secret, one that could shake the fate of the world? This is an experiment of an ambitious scale: this campaign will be set in a Living Theros. This is where multiple Parties and DMs are collaborating in a shared instance of the world: actions performed by one party could ripple out and affect other parties in the game! Be a part of this awesome experience and interact by proxy! (Involved Game Masters are Jordan Legros, Katie, and myself) WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? Grab your sword, don your helmet, say a quick prayer, and venture into the mythical world of Theros!

How to prepare

* Make sure you have Discord, *access to your Character Sheet if ready, and *a way to roll dice You can do your own research and look up the D&D Mythic Odysseys of Theros character options, if you are more experienced with character making (message me for help!) For brand new players, I strongly suggest asking me to make a character for you, as filling out a character sheet on your first session is very overwhelming. It's no big deal if you want to: I asked my DM to do that the first few times before I made my first character! I’ll ask you easy questions, and I’ll do the paperwork from there!

What I provide

A hard-copy of the book "Mythic Guide to Theros" which I'll be using, along with the PHB, XGE, and EE extra materials and rule books.

Gameplay details

MECHANICS OF PLAY: > BOOKS SUGGESTED (Digital or on-hand) Player’s Handbook Mystic Odysseys of Theros Xanathar’s Guide to Everything > CHARACTER CREATION - We will be using D&D 5e rules, with the Core Player’s Handbook for Classes, Subclasses, Backgrounds, core Rules, and the Human Race option. - Subclasses from Xanathar’s Guide to Everything are acceptable too. - Non-human Races will include the Races from the Mystic Odysseys of Theros book: Centaurs, Leonin, Minotaur, Sayty, or Triton. - Please do not use Races such as Elfs and Dwarfs that are non-native to this realm. The restrictions are in place to make transition from one Dungeon Master to another easier, not to restrict Player creativity. - I’d love to discuss and help you flesh out your character idea from a skeleton to a three-dimensional character!! Further details and questions about character creation will be answered by me if asked! Materials (such as information from the MOT book, or rules on character abilities) can be digitally provided if requested. For brand new players, I strongly suggest asking me to make a character for you, as filling out a character sheet on your first session is very overwhelming. No shame: I asked my DM to do that the first few times before I made my first character! I’ll ask you easy questions, and I’ll do the paperwork from there! > WHAT TO EXPECT: - This is a campaign that’s looking for a new Player: you’ll be jumping right into things with a mid-level character, and I’ll catch you up to speed and introduce you to the Player party, the Fated Guardians! - Join the Discord where I post information, and where you can roll digitally - What you will do in-game will vary slightly from DM to DM, but I personally love Character Development and Creativity in and out of Combat. You can expect both challenging fights and solid character moment opportunities. - You are NOT expected to be a fully-fleshed voice actor that never slips out of character: I know I’m not! This is first and foremost, something we all do for FUN. If you aren’t comfortable with doing a voice, no pressure. - LET OTHERS TALK. It’s something I want to be better about: having the person in the center of the spotlight take a break, and let someone else in the party shine! Each Player in the party should feel their opinion and voice matters, so be cautious and considerate. It’ll only improve gameplay for all. - Experience-wise, this mini-campaign is open to brand new TTRPG Players: I’ll be teaching the basics quickly, but I will go over things multiple times during actual play, as I feel it makes more sense in the moment. - For those more experienced, don’t worry: I’ll provide something for you and others to occupy your time with, while working with the newer players.
