About the adventure

It’s Christmas eve in the wizarding world. Every 10 years, the Council of Christmas Wizards gathers together to select the next 8 wizards to have the privilege to act as Santa’s Reindeer. To be selected was a great honor among wizards, and was only available to a select few. In order to be considered, you had to be an Animagus capable of being a reindeer, and have a spotless background. Having direct access to Santa was not something they took lightly, and they needed to keep tight security on it in order to keep the sanctity of the Muggle myth of Santa. Few knew the true location of the “North Pole” and many wards were placed around it to prevent wizards and muggles alike from finding it. The only way to reach it was via port key direct from Hogsmeade Village. As per tradition, the 8 wizards chosen to act as the reindeer for the past 9 years, have all gathered together to travel to the north pole to meet Nick for their last year of service...

Additional Details

How to prepare

A Mic is required, but a webcam is preferred. You will need internet access as well to access foundry at a link I will provide when we start playing, as well as to access their character sheets on dndbeyond. Foundry does not require any download as it is web based. I welcome my players to use their own dice if they have them, or they can use the digital dice on dndbeyond or Foundry VTT if they would rather have the math all done for them.

What I provide

I will bring dice if everyone is local and willing to play in person. However if we are playing remote, personal dice are welcome, or you can use the digital dice in dndbeyond or Foundry VTT. I will provide in game handouts whether in person or digital. If we are playing in person, I will provide a Mini for each player they are welcome to keep when the campaign has ended, for digital games I will do my best to help players find a character art that fits their vision for their character. I also do voices for NPC's and use background music for better immersion.

Gameplay details

I utilize an open door policy for my games, if you need to step away in session or talk to me after the game I am open for that. We are all at the table to have fun and I want my players to feel safe and able to do so. I will be having all my players fill out a consent in gaming survey prior to the game as well. I welcome feedback and encourage everyone to touch base frequently to make sure we are all on the same page.

How will character creation work

This is an adventure for level 10 players. All characters will be Human Spellcasters, either as a Bard/Cleric/Druid/Sorcerer/Warlock or Wizard. There will be no armor/shields/weapons or spell components used, except for a wand that each character will have as their spell focus. Wands can be placed into an item as well(ie: an umbrella or staff) as long as it makes sense to the Wizarding World. Stats will be rolled with an Algorithm I have set up in my discord server. All characters will be graduated from a Wizarding school, your choice which one (Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, Ilvermorny, etc) and will have jobs working in the greater Wizarding World. You will all be familiar with the other characters, so I encourage making a small backstory(family, job, hogwarts house/school) to share with the other players prior to the game.
