Dungeons & Dragons 5e

D&D Beyond

About the adventure

Twenty Years ago, you were young adventurers. You'd freshly gained local renown and made your way to the capital. That evening while you rested in the inn, the King was murdered and your group was blamed. You were arrested, clapped in irons and spent the last twenty years rotting in jail. Suddenly, on his deathbed, a local Baron confessed to the crime and explained exactly how he had framed you because you had interfered with his plans while you were still in the countryside. The evidence was reviewed, the word of the Baron was accepted and you were finally freed and exonerated! You are finally able to pursue your dreams of becoming heroes of the realm, despite the fact that you are now much older and technically ex-cons. This world will be built collaboratively at session zero, within the basic guidelines of the story already presented. The idea is that each player will bring ONE thing they want the world to include. It can be anything you want. Once we have a whole group we will have session zero and discuss everybody's additions as well as the normal session zero content (banned behaviors, my DM style, house rules, character creation, etc). I will be creating the map while we have session zero, and your backstories will impact the world as it is created.

Additional Details

How to prepare

You will need a microphone and discord, as well as your own dice. You will need to provide one addition to the game (examples might include "Matthew Mercer's gunslinger class" or "there was a major magical plague 50 years ago and everybody is scarred by it in some way" or "dragons went extinct hundreds of years ago and the age of adventurers has come to an end") You will be responsible for your own character sheet and for keeping an updated copy in a google drive (or as a public character on dndbeyond) for my reference as needed.

What I provide

As a digital game, I will be using digital tools for everything, there will be maps, at the very least, with art possibly coming later.

Gameplay details

This game will NOT include any themes of sexual violence. Nor will it include any scenes of explicit sexual content, any sexual encounter in game will occur "off camera" if it occurs at all. The game is likely to include various levels of violence and gore, as well as heavy emotional story content. I'm fairly new to "safety tools" but I try to respect everybody's limits and triggers (tell me at or before session zero and I will ensure it is not included... tell me at any point after that and i will make sure it is appropriately addressed and removed from my game if needed).
