About the adventure

Set in the Forgotten Realms kingdom of Cormyr the adventurers witness a murder and the victim is in possession of a crudely drawn treasure map with a note detailing the discovery of a long lost library. The authorities have no interest in the map believing it is fake. Do you pursue the map knowing it may be a wild goose chase or that there are treasures beyond imagination that someone will do anything to get? Cormyr is unlike the Sword Coast city-states of Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, or Waterdeep. Many have referred to it as the Camelot of the Forgotten Realms. There is a strong respect for the crown and adventurers play a lesser role in society than the royal army in defending the populace from marauding monsters. They are still needed, but commoners look to their government rather than heroes for safety and protection. Four From Cormyr was originally published as a 2nd Edition adventure. It is broken up into a series of One Shots creating an overarching story. We will be using 5th Edition mechanics for the game portions of the story.

How to prepare

You will receive an email with instructions on downloading Fantasy Grounds, Character Creation Quick Guide, and how to connect to voice chat for the game. You will need a good quality microphone and a stable internet connection. No webcam will be required. A familiarity with 5e rules and character mechanics will be helpful.

What I provide

I will be bringing a Fantasy Grounds Ultimate license so you will not need to pay for Fantasy Grounds. I will be bringing all 5e campaign books in FG format and I will have all of my 1e – 4e materials on standby for lore and additional mechanics.

Gameplay details

There will be some roleplay at the beginning as you cross the border into Cormyr and stumble upon your quest. There will be a dungeon crawl with exploration, and some guardians that need to be dealt with. There will also be a murder mystery and other adventures that will need the PCs assistance. Content will generally be PG-13 but may extend up to Rated R. Open Door will be our safety tool of choice.

How will character creation work

Players will create their character sheets in advance using Fantasy Grounds or on D&D Beyond. Send a link to your character sheet. To roll your ability scores roll 4d6 drop 1 die and add a +2. You may type /die 4d6d1 + 2 in the Fantasy Grounds chat window to roll this as many times as needed. This will place the center of the bell curve of your abilities at 16. You will level up to Level 10 and take your ability score increases or feats as desired. Start with 64,000 XP and 49,000 gp.
