About the adventure

The Final Girl is a horror movie roleplaying game meant to emulate slashers or any other horror movie where the characters are picked off one by one until only one survivor remains to confront the killer. Gather your friends, create your own movie, and find out who will Survive. In this GMless system, a group of players all take turns as the killer, murdering an ever dwindling cast of players. The killer is created collaboratively, as is our setting. The system is versatile enough to support supernatural horror a la Hellraiser or Freddy, or keep it classic with more down to earth Killers like Jason or Michael Myers. It's light and fast enough to learn without more than 10 minutes explanation and I'll be there to guide you all the way. (I tried to make the game about the cost of going to a movie to keep in spirit with the game.)

Additional Details

How to prepare

A mic is necessary and a Webcam is not. You don't need to brush up on the rules ahead of time but having discord would certainly help as that's how I mostly contact people. You will also need a roll20 account.

What I provide

I'll handle all of the game/table design and get everything needed for day-of.

Gameplay details

I use a common sense approach to a system called Veils and Lines. Prior to the game each player will be asked what is a hard Line and not to be included, and which is a Veil (something that's ok to be included as long as its "off screen"). That being said slasher movies tend to contain a bit of violence so a little of that is to be expected.

How will character creation work

Character creation is very light and handled day of the game. It's pacing is designed to give you enough time in the beginning. And since there are no stats (the game is card based). Also there is no traditional character ownership so don't come expecting to make it. Most of us will die!

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: Low
  • Roleplay: High
  • Puzzles: Low
  • Experience Level: Beginner
