    About the adventure

Fallen Eagle In an alternative version of our world, where ancient pre-human civilizations once ruled the land millennia ago, and where magic has real power, Rome still rose as the greatest power in Europe. Some things changed, and some events were different. The Legions count on War Magus to conjure fire and doom on their enemies, the gods actually send visions and blessings, and on the savage lands beyond the Republic, monsters prowl the land and feed on men. But still the but still, Rome prevails. You are part of the proud Roman legions, the backbone of Rome's military might. Once hailed as invincible, your legion has suffered an unthinkable loss - the loss of the Aquila, the Eagle, your sacred standard, and a symbol of Roman honor, power, and the divine protection of the gods. Betrayed during a fierce battle against the barbarians of the wild northern territories, your legion's Eagle was captured, and your comrades have been left disgraced and demoralized. The Eagle must be recovered to restore your honor and that of the legion - failure is not an option. This adventure plunges you into a daring rescue mission deep in the heart of enemy territory. Far from the familiarity of Roman order, you must navigate a labyrinth of chaos and untamed wilderness, filled with fiercely independent tribes, dangerous creatures, and ancient magic. As a group of trusted legionnaires, you will face a myriad of challenges. You'll engage in diplomacy with potential allies among the native tribes, uncover secret routes and shortcuts, and strategize to overcome obstacles. But there are more dangers than the native tribes, as this is not the Britannia of history, but one set in a world of ancient magic. The dark forests hide not only your sacred Eagle but a wealth of secrets that could tip the balance of power in your favor - or seal your doom. Using the Adventurer Conqueror King System, you will start playing as rank-and-file soldiers, but as you progress you will gain rank, influence, and responsibility, commanding soldiers in battles that will range from platoon-size skirmishes to massive battles involving the entire legion. And if you return back with the Eagle, that won't be the end of your adventures, as the cutthroat politics of the Empire will drag you in, and civil war is on the horizon.

    How to prepare

All you need is a mic, a Discord account, and a free foundry/forge account. You can read the rules if you want, but the game is easy enough to learn as you play.

    What I provide

A massive world for you to explore as you please.

    Gameplay details

The game will focus on exploring a hostile land and dealing with the various factions in it. You will have a clear goal, but freedom to choose how to pursue it. The party will receive missions and expect to follow the chain of command, but that doesn't mean they won´t be able to bend the rules. Also, if the group agrees, the game world is open for you to go off the basic mission. Adventurer Conqueror King System is a medium-rules game, with a focus on being inventive and clever over number crunching. So forget about balanced encounters tailored to the party, choose your fights carefully and try to stack the deck on your favour as much as you can.
