About the adventure

You live in Qel, a city-state built into the fossil of an ancient being of unimaginable size and power. Each of Qel's nine districts, or 'boros,' is a city in its own right, with courts, borders, and cultural distinction. Qel's sprawling streets, grand institutions, and enormous wealth present endless opportunities for those clever or lucky enough to find their place here. But for others, who feel the gaze of Qel's mysterious rulers and their ubiquitous 'Acheri' agents, Qel feels less like a home and more like a prison. This is a home-brew setting compatible with any number of WOTC 5e adventure modules. I like to start this campaign by figuring out each character's relationship with the city-state of Qel. Are you a business-owner? A street-level criminal? A monster hunter who takes contracts from the government? A prisoner? A spy? Do you love Qel, despise it, or have conflicted feelings about it? We will hammer out character details in a free zero session and in private. The first few sessions are homebrew encounters designed to familiarize the group with the setting, get a feel for your characters, and set up a through-line for official adventure books. This is a 'living world' campaign, in which all respective parties influence the same world. Did your party just start a giant forest fire? Well, there's a good chance the rest of the Exiles players will see the smoke. Did the rogue in the Saturday morning party just steal a family heirloom from a wealthy noble? Additional Details

How to prepare

Essentials are: headphones, microphone, Discord, a basic understanding of the rules of D&D, and a personal computer (Foundry does not work on tablets, phones, and struggles with the Safari browser) and some time spent thinking of your character's place in this society. Preferred but not essential: webcam, a cursory reading of the setting details listed in the Discord server, and a free Syrinscape Online player (https://www.syrinscape.com/online/) if you want to hear my music and ambient sounds.

What I provide

All official WOTC DnD books and content, original content, digital battle maps, occasional original 'hype' videos, a whiteboard, music and ambience.

How will character creation work

Start at level 1 with benchmark-based advancement. I hold free, optional character-creation zero sessions for anyone who wants help with their character (talk to me on Discord to find a time!). You can make a character on DnD Beyond and I'll import it, or else we will make your sheet in Foundry in just a few minutes if you know basically what you want to make.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
