About the adventure
The world of Norrath is a fantastic and mystical land steeped in mystery and adventure. Tales spun my traveling bards excite many a brave, young soul to answer the call of adventure and glory and to travel to distant continents far away from the farms and merchant houses of their youth. Vast regions of Norrath remain unexplored, with treasures from lost eras yet unclaimed and unknown monstrosities yet unconquered. EverQuest was my first video game when I was a kid and it started my love of high fantasy and roleplaying. After several years of D&D, I think its main world, Norrath, is the perfect setting for a campaign. For those unfamiliar, EverQuest is a traditional high-fantasy setting based heavily on Lord of the Rings, but with a lot more magic. It has elves and dwarves, orcs and goblins, and of course dungeons and dragons. The campaign will take place after a large conflict between mortals and gods that left the world population diminished and the gods weakened and angry.

How to prepare
Players need a mic, discord, and good reliable internet. The game will be run on FoundryVTT and I utilize all of its advantages to make the games immersive and fun. This includes animated maps, music, animated spell effects, and several combat automations. This requires significant internet bandwidth. If you live in a rural area and/or have DSL internet speeds, this game is likely not for you. You will also need a (free) Forge account at https://forge-vtt.com/ to access the cloud-hosted game.

Gameplay details
D&D 5e is primarily a combat-focused system, so there will be a good amount of combat. Sessions spent out of civilization will have plenty of combat encounters, but I like to flesh out my cities so we can spend down time with RP as well. I would say the campaign will be around 50% combat overall, but it depends on how often the party wants to go out adventuring.

How will character creation work
We will hold a session 0 dedicated solely to character creation and integrating them and their backstories into the world and campaign. Characters will start at level 3. Players should bring character art and concepts, but remain flexible to integrate them into the setting and party.
