About the adventure

Hadley's Hope's days are numbered, with an alien infestation underway, the colony is under dire circumstances, and you get to live it out. See what led up to the events of Aliens, live the massacre that the Colonial Marines only get to see the aftermath of, and maybe figure out just who or what killed that on Xenomorph in the hallway. Who knows, maybe you'll even escape, or maybe you'll all be used for Xenomorph gestation, only one way to find out really. With five pre-generated characters, each with their own talents, abilities, friends, rivals, and personal agendas, find out if you'll live or die in this high stakes one shot! Hadley's Hope, a small research and terraforming colony on the turbulent planet LV-426, was funded by Weyland-Yutani. Life is rough and boring for it's 158 residents, or at least it was. Apparently, Russ Jordan, while exploring with his family in his wildcat, got infected by something and died. Some kinda weird snake thing popped out of his body, and security couldn't find it. Even weirder, Weyland-Yutani sent a corporate shuttle with an investigation team on board. However strangeness doesn't stop work, and the five of you were sent to Processor 9 to go run some maintenance. About 6 miles out from the colony, your tractor gave out and calls for help from home where mostly ignored, and after a day of no response, looks like your only choice is to walk back and see just what the hell is going on.

How to prepare

Players will need a discord and forge account (both of which are free) created before the start of the session. A decent quality mic and limited background noise (or use of push to talk) is required. A basic understanding of the Alien RPG rules, while not mandatory, is recommended.

What I provide

This game will be run on Foundry VTT and I have purchased the official Alien Core Rulebook for the VTT, which includes this scenario. I will also do my best in immersing the feel of despair present in the Alien movies while also dangling the carrot on a stick of hope. Expect plenty of roleplay, and gritty nail biting combats should a xenomorph detect your presence.

Gameplay details

The scenario takes about 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 hours to complete so between introducing mechanics and giving some wiggle room for roleplay, I imagine it'll run for about 3-4 hours. We'll take a break at roughly the 2 hour mark, or whenever is convenient for the narrative, and will do a brief debriefing to ensure everyone is comfortable with how things are going. Given that the rivals and personal agendas system is intrinsic to the game, some PvP may occur, so be prepared for that possibility and understand that any PvP that does occur is all in good fun, and should not be used maliciously.
