About the adventure
"Dr. Nathaniel Lenit, 38, passed away in his sleep on December 31st in his home. He was the last member of his family, but is survived by the friends and students he met during his tenure at Elliot Academy of Higher Learning." That's what The Unaware newspapers say, but as the name suggests they don't know a lot of things. Like that Nathaniel was a father of three, that he died 300 years ago, that he was a vampire, and that he was murdered. Welcome back students to Elliot Academy of Higher Learning! EAHL is the nation's oldest supernatural college, focused on educating heirs from the most influential supernatural families in the world. That changed this past fall. With rising backlash from unaware families across the nation, the academy has opened their doors to regular humans, The Unaware. Awakened students have been asked to hide their truths so the secrets of our world do not spill into the sphere of the Unaware. You and your companions are Awakened Students at EAHL, and you're also all members of EAHL's Paranormal Society. The same club that Dr. Lenit lead this past fall. Right before winter break, you received a cryptic message from Dr. Lenit. Now it's up to you all to figure out who killed him and what his final words meant. Can you solve it or will his intent perish with him?

How to prepare
You'll need a webcam and microphone for this game. A laptop webcam and wired headphone mic work perfectly fine! Don't worry about super fancy equipment or anything. You'll need to join the Discord Server and the Roll20. In addition, make sure that you are comfortable with using Zoom for the purposes of gameplay. I find that seeing each other's faces and reactions makes it way easier to interact over online games!
What I provide
Zoom, a Discord server, Roll20, information on the rules and playbooks, intimate knowledge of safety tools, and an excitement to tell stories with you!
Gameplay details
In this game, players will be tasked with solving the mystery of Dr. Lenit's death. Through roleplay, discovery, and exploration the players will find themselves closer and closer to the answer. Players are expected to lead the adventure. As the Keeper, I will not push the story on you, but rather build it around your interests and investigation. Most sessions will not involve heavy combat. While killing the villains is permitted and possible, it is not the only solution to the mystery. Your work in Elite Academy will determine where the story goes. Elite Academy is a Monster of the Week Campaign. MotW is a Powered by the Apocalypse system that focuses on the narrative storytelling of shows such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Supernatural, Doctor Who, etc. . Gameplay is fluid and gives the players control of the action and the story. For relevant interactions, players roll 2D6, add the applicable stat to the roll, and in concert with the Keeper, determine the effect. When dice are rolled, the world is changed. Players will not be asked to make rolls unless the world would resist the change. CW: Murder, Blood, Monsters, Fear, Deception The Safety Tools in use for this game are "Lines & Veils", "Stars & Wishes", "X,N,O Cards", and "Open-Door Policy". Session 0 will include a dedicated explanation of those safety tools for all players. As this is a horror game, player safety is of the utmost importance.

How will character creation work
Character creation will occur via a private Discord. Most character creation will happen privately, but there will be a Session 0 that is held to establish team/character history. Characters do not need to be fully created by Session 0, but a character concept is necessary. Session 0 will include topics such as character creation, a little bit of lore, and safety tools.
