About the adventure

In the city of Waterdeep rests a tavern called the Yawning Portal, named after the gaping pit in its common room. At the bottom of this crumbling shaft is a labyrinthine dungeon shunned by all but the most daring adventurers. Known as Undermountain, this dungeon is the domain of the mad wizard Halaster Blackcloak. Long has the Mad Mag dwelt in these forlorn depths, seeding his lair with monsters, traps, mysteries. To what end? That question is a constant source of speculation and concern. This adventure starts at 5th level and takes characters all the way to 20th level should they explore the entirety of Halaster’s home.

How to prepare

You will need a headset and user account for Discord (I recommend using the client version) A working knowledge of the D&D 5e rules Several character concepts (you can prepare a character in D&D Beyond in advance it you desire, but it is not necessary)

How will character creation work

Characters start at 5th level using the standard array. Allowed source books include: PHB, XGtE, SCAG, TCE (no optional content) We will use Session 0 for character creation and party composition.
