About the adventure

🐉 🗡️ Fight in the War of the Lance! 🗡️ 🐉 A world ravaged by war cries out for heroes! Will you answer the call? The drum beat of war rolls across the lands of Krynn. Three hundred years ago, the gods smote the continent of Ansalon and turned their backs on this world. Now the evil goddess Takhisis, the Dragon Queen, has set in motion a plan to rapidly conquer the land while the other gods focus their attention elsewhere. Her armies quickly spread across Ansalon, crushing everything in their path. At an old friend’s funeral, you are swept up in the Red Dragon Army’s invasion of Solamnia in the early days of the war. With only your wits and abilities to save you, will you be able to defend the walled city of Kalaman? Can you and your allies piece together the mystery surrounding Lord Soth’s secret mission and find a way to stop the death knight’s plan? Are you strong enough to thwart the will of the Dragon Queen? This is a war-themed adventure where players assume the role of heroes attempting to stop the evil goddess, Takhisis’ Red Dragon Army from capturing the city of Kalaman. The setting features a world just crawling back from cataclysm where arcane magic is closely controlled and divine magic has been unheard of. The campaign is somewhat linear in structure(meaning the campaign assumes characters will react to/follow the story in certain ways). Characters can expect to advance from level 1 to level 11 by the end of the adventure.

Gameplay details

Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen contains elements of all your favorite war tropes, so the campaign has a lot of combat and violence. Themes like raiding, sieging, killing, and the inhumane treatment of others come up frequently. We will have a session zero to set expectations and discuss any lines or veils that should be included. You are always free to take a break with no judgment if things get too intense, and you can message me using the X, N, and O cards to signal that we need to move on from a tough topic or situation. At the conclusion of each session we'll take a minute to discuss what's happened so far and how everyone is feeling about the campaign.

How will character creation work

Characters will start at level 1 and can be created during session 0. Players can use point buy or the standard array for stats. We will be using the character creation guidelines (Feats at 1st and 4th level) in the adventure module and, to keep the sense of immersion present in our game, we will limit character creation to races and backgrounds native to Krynn (humans, elves, dwarves, rock gnomes, kender, etc.). Characters may begin the adventure with either the starting equipment or starting gold.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
