Dungeons & Dragons 5e

Foundry VTT

About the adventure

A Dwarf named Gundren Rockseeker is looking for a caravan guard to transport his supplies from Neverwinter down the High Road to the rock and tumble town of Phandalin. Journeying through these roads is known to be a dangerous task, one that very few undertake on their own; frequented by bandits and with monster sightings not being unusual, it’s best to always be prepared and be able to defend oneself. A non-negotiable 10 gold pieces payment is offered to each adventurer in the group. The Campaign Set in the Forgotten Realms, the campaign will start at level 1 and will probably run somewhere between 5-10 sessions, so commitment is key. The Lost Mine of Phandelver (LMoP) is a great introductory adventure to start playing the fifth edition of Dungeons & Dragons in the Forgotten Realms. About the Game We’ll have a relaxed environment and game, at a pace that suits the party best. It’ll include exciting combat, interesting roleplay encounters and adventuring and exploration. The rules for our game will be discussed in session zero, but, simply, enjoy the game and let others do so, too. Consistency. Upon agreeing on a day and time, you can expect our games to run consistently on the agreed schedule. Any changes will be discussed among the group and decided upon convenience for all members. Customization. The campaign we’ll engage in, will be tailored to fit your characters and the party, as well as the group’s playstyle and interests. Even when I mostly play by the book, I’ll work the background and timing behind all encounters to give you a greater feeling of involvement. Easy-going learning atmosphere. I really enjoy introducing people to the hobby and explaining the game as clearly as I possibly can, so new players are perfectly welcome and will be prioritized when reviewing applications. We’ll make sure both DM and the more experienced players in the group help new players to learn the ropes of the game. Going beyond the Hardcover. I offer my players the possibility to go beyond the adventure as published, adding and exploring side quests, other adventure modules or using supplements to augment the experience provided. Sandboxy feeling. I’m not big on “railroading” adventures, maybe because I’ve always loved open worlds and, since, I enjoy the possibility of players defining their approach to the adventure and the life route after it. Time and dedication. I’m invested in the game, and more than just money, I invest great time on it. I constantly find myself, if not reading an adventure or doing prep-work for game sessions, checking and reading the core books, watching videos or looking up new contents to expand my library and ideas to bring into my games. What I expect * Dedicated and open-minded players who are willing to commit. * Invested in learning the game, mechanics and rules -especially those related to your characters . * We’ll base our game in trust and an honor system, I expect everyone to be true to this. * Most of the time we’ll play using the Rules as Written (RAW) and, eventually, Rules as Intended (RAI). * There will be NO PvP in our games, at least not without consent due to prior discussion. * Being murder hobos, excessive metagaming and lack of seriousness are all best left out of the table.

How to prepare

Have your Roll20 and Discord accounts setup. Look through the pregen character sheets, pick one, get familiar with it. Please make sure to do some, at least basic, reading of the free rules or the PHB in order.

What I provide

Great fun, lots of prep, compendium sourcebooks, API scripts, custom-made maps, etc.

Gameplay details

You can expect a good mix of the game's three pillars - combat, exploration and social interaction. I run games mostly playing by the Rules as Written (RAW), with hints of the Rules as Intended (RAI). Unless discussed otherwise with the group, I enforce aspects of the game like encumbrance, travel pace, food and water, etc. For combat, we'll mostly use grid maps. But not all grid maps imply the presence of a combat encounter.
