About the adventure

Icewind Dale, run by GM Frost. How are ya, everyone? I'm planning to run Icewind Dale for those dedicated dnd players and for those who are new too! I'm looking for 6 players who are willing to adventure into this Icy place known as Icewind dale, home to ten towns. Beneath the unyielding night sky, you stand before a towering glacier and recite an ancient rhyme, causing a crack to form in the great wall of ice. Beyond this yawning fissure, the Caves of Hunger await. And past this icy dungeon is a secret so old and terrifying that few dare speak of it. The mad wizards of the Arcane Brotherhood long to possess that which the god of winter's wrath has so coldly preserved--as do you! What fantastic secrets and treasures are entombed in the sunless heart of the glacier, and what will their discovery mean for the denizens of Icewind Dale? Can you save Ten-Towns from the Frostmaiden's everlasting night? Characters will begin at level 2! Point buy or Standard Array stats. The game levels through milestone. My name is Jeremy, but, my players know me as Frost. As a GM I don't mind staying overtime as long as my players are having fun. However, I tolerate no insults to other players or PVP. I've been GMing for quite a few years now and learned a few new things along the way, and I hope to learn more as I play with those who participate in this campaign. I'm very open-minded about things and chill about certain aspects of characters. I do love giving my players a challenge and a world to explore, along with lore and equipment to match. If you decide to join or have any questions about who I am, I urge you to contact me on my personal account Sleat#7465. For those joining, please first consult with me about your characters, background, motives, and everything I need to know. The character has to have a backstory of how they got trapped in Icewind Dale. This game also places DnD aspects like traveling and exhaustion. Hope y'all join, stay safe and see you soon. -Frosty

Additional Details

How to prepare

Players should know the basic knowledge of how dice, skill checks and save work. A mic is required, a small or long backstory of your character, join the server as soon as you can so we can work on your character and how you think they'll play out.

What I provide

I will bring mimics, knowledge of DnD 5e, and Owlbear Rodeo.

Gameplay details

This game contains described gore, violence, and mimics. Players can expect somewhat of a light experience and slow-paced roleplay. For the Safety Toolkit used in game (if you don’t know how they work or how it is. I will provide small examples in this description). The Luxton Technique: When one or a few players feel uncomfortable be it by content or actions, they can choose to discuss it with other players at the table or in DM with the Game Master. X, N and O cards: The X card can be used if a player is uncomfortable, choosing to rewind, redo or skip over the content being played. The N card can be used if one player is starting to feel that they’re going to use the X card. Doing this will let the GM and the others that they should redo the scene or fade to black. The O card is for when one or many players want to continue forth. I want my players to be as vocal as possible about concerns and questions. Breaks will be halfway through the session, they can be used to go to the bathroom, eat something or discuss what’s happening in game. Each break is around 10-15 minutes. As for what I’m expecting? I hope players have fun in this campaign, get dedicated into their characters and explore.

How will character creation work

Character creation can be done beforehand, with the exceptions of stats if they are being rolled, otherwise, point buy is preferred. Characters must have a backstory about how they got there. How do you see them by the end of the story? There will be a session zero, however. Players can ask any questions they have beforehand.

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: Medium
  • Roleplay: High
  • Puzzles: Low
  • Experience Level: Beginner
