(DnD 5e) Sunless Strahd

About the adventure

Join us and delve deep into Dungeons and Dragons darkest domain, slaying horrors of the night while trying not to become one yourself along the way. Our heroes have found themselves spirited away by a dark fog to a world of horror that has not seen the sun since ancient times. Much will need to be sacrificed in order to escape your newfound prison of mist, but if you play your cards right you might just end up saving an entire kingdom from their cunning and cruel vampire lord, Strahd von Zarovich. Find yourself steeped in the political intrigue of a land too long separated from the rest world, go tooth and nail against an ancient family of werewolves and test the mettle of your mind against the puzzling halls of Castle Ravenloft, this module has all of that and more, making sure there is something for just about anybody! This game will be a heavily modified Curse of Strahd campaign, where instead of going through the death house we will be trekking through the accursed Sunless Citadel for the first three levels. I've done extensive work, adding new npcs to help and hinder you as well as completely new locations to this module so it will have excitement and something new even for players who have been to the cursed lands of Barovia before. My strengths are roleplay, helping out new players, strategic, intense combats and well thought out, fun stories! (Or in the case of this campaign, horrifying! But still fun-) I've been running these games for 10 years and counting, and i'm ready to put all my experience and enthusiasm to the task in giving you a one of a kind experience! Expect this adventure to last months on end as you will be going from level 1 to 9 or higher! It truly depends on whenever you think you are ready to face off against the Vampire Lord himself. Character death is a real possibility in this campaign, but don't let that dissuade you. After all, sometimes death is just the beginning....

Additional Details

How to prepare

I ask that my players all have a working microphone, roll20 and discord account set up, as well as a stable internet connection for smoothness of play. I also ask that my players consider taking notes because I offer inspiration for those who would volunteer to do a recap!

What I provide

I bring colorful battlemaps, tailored stories and worlds that match the party within them, a roll20 compendium with all the official content to make character creation super easy, and an open door policy so we can talk about how to give you the best experience in ongoing games. For this particular module I also bring hours and hours worth of additional content to the normal Strahd module to make sure it is something completely new, so that even veteran players will have surprises lurking around every corner!

Gameplay details

I use Lines and Veils to ensure anything that may trigger my players gets handled, and I do not tolerate harassment of any sort within my games. I am bi and use he/him pronouns, and I run a LGBT+ and POC inclusive game For game experience, I am well versed with the rules but believe in rule of cool when it'll bring the party as a whole the most happiness. Expect fun interactions with colorful characters and combats that serve the story i've done my best to personally tailor to your group!

How will character creation work

Character creation will happen via Roll20, and i'm more than happy to get together with you either via text or voice to work on a character together. I allow anything officially published, with Unearthed Arcana being allowed on a case by case basis. Characters will need to be created an hour before your first time playing with us, otherwise you will need to use one of the pre-generated characters provided. At the start of the campaign we begin at level 1, and if you join later in the game you will start at the same level as the other players. For stats we will be using your choice of 4d6 drop the lowest, point buy, or standard array. I do allow players who have rolled low to switch to point buy or standard array after.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
