About the adventure

Have you thought about DMing before but aren't sure where to start? I'll take you through the steps of becoming a DM, including tips, resources, and my own personal experiences and lessons that I've learned the past year and a half DMing a homebrew 5e game. The session will go over a few different areas: • Tools - We'll go over how to use dnd beyond, roll20, and discord as a DM • Conduct - We'll go over ways to interact with different types of players, tips on how to improvise and still weave in the plot elements you've prepared, and how to reward players for creative thinking and roleplaying and making sure everyone is having a good time. • Resources - different sites I use to gather and prepare material for my own hoembrew game. • Session pep - how much to prepare, worldbuilding tips, and how to come up with and hit different plot points of a long-term campaign. • Q&A - specifics and any questions anyone has about DMing or what we've gone over so far.

What I provide

An enthusiastic attitude and any questions you may have

Gameplay details

As a DM I stress improv, roleplay, and arranging the adventure to suit the choices the players make. I run homebrew dnd 5e campaigns as opposed to modules, and will be explaining things assuming that you are doing the same.

How will character creation work

We can go over PC character creation and running a good session zero for anyone who's interested. Personally I feel that session zeros are important for establishing the rules and expectations of the game you are about to play, and important for everyone to get to know each other if they aren't already friends.
