About the adventure

A night of passion ends more viscerally than imagined and Candela is summoned onto the case! - Join Candela Obscura, a secret society of investigators who are among the "privileged" few to know magick is both real and the most dangerous force in the world. - Get to know Newfaire, a city that is fresh from a war and bustling with activity after the recent discovery of electricity. The aesthetic is Victorian steampunk meets 1920's prohibition with technology that is similar but diverging from our own world's. - Solve mysteries and fight eldritch horrors from the vicious parallel universe as they break through openings called the Flare. - Learn as you go in this made-for-beginners story that takes you through some of the city's prominent districts in search of answers.

Additional Details

How to prepare

Have Discord and a working mic. I will not be on camera, but you are free to be. There is no need to read the rules ahead of time as I will teach you everything in the session. Just have your character sheet through Demiplane ready. Please DM me on discord at "byhookorbyrook" when you join so I can add you to the server.

What I provide

I bring a discord channel, music, and voices to help everyone get immersed. I run things RAW for the most part with some allowance for Rule of Cool.

Gameplay details

Players will be provided a list of possible warnings before the game begins (a mix of real warnings and things that will not come up to preserve the mystery of the scenario) as a survey. We will then go over X, N, and O signals for the game.

How will character creation work

You will use Demiplane for character creation. It is free. I will provide the Candela sourcebook for the duration of the session.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
