About the adventure

Deep in the Yatil Mountains lie the Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth, formerly occupied by the legendary archmage Iggwilv the Witch Queen. Though Iggwilv is long gone, her lair is anything but empty. Can you brave the threats within and find fortune before succumbing to danger? This is a non-competitive, Adventurers League legal 4-hour adventure, playable by 5e characters levels 5-10 from any campaign setting. The adventure is part of the D&D 50th Anniversary Play Series available for free on D&D Beyond.

How to prepare

We will be able to roll dice in Roll20 or using Beyond20 to connect D&D Beyond and Roll20 but if you prefer to use physical dice that is welcome. Be sure to test out your webcam and mic before the session.

What I provide

I'll have battle maps, handouts, and a great adventure planned out for everyone. I usually have the Roll20 ambient music in the background, but you can adjust that as needed. As a Dungeon Master, I enjoy the online gaming format. You'll find games with me a great chance to build memorable characters and roleplay. There will be plenty of battle and action, yet I won't shy away from that back alley you want to explore. I'll help draw out the epic hero in your character and give you a great gaming experience. Looking forward to our game!

Gameplay details

We will use Roll20 as our Virtual Tabletop and Discord for video/audio. Mics are required, use of video is optional. Using Discord will allow us to share characters ahead of the session and to do a brief virtual session 0 via a Discord text channel. I can assist you in using any of these platforms if you are not familiar with them. Anonymous safety cards (X, N, O) are digital and provided with descriptions in Roll20. We will take time to introduce characters at the beginning of the session. At the end we will wrap up with time to debrief and do aftercare.

How will character creation work

You will need a Tier 2 (Level 5-10) Adventurers League character ready at the start of the session. Use the D&D Adventurer's League Player's Guide v14 when preparing your character for the session. The character can be from any campaign setting. https://media.dndbeyond.com/compendium-images/ddal/reference-docs/03-2024/d&d-adventurers-league-player's-guide-v14.0.pdf You may use D&D Beyond, Roll20, Pen and Paper, or your favorite method to create your character. Adventurers League requires rules as written so homebrew content will be removed. If you use D&D Beyond you can add the Beyond20 web browser add-on (https://beyond20.here-for-more.info/install) to have your character sheet connected with Roll20. If you need help creating or updating your character please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: High
  • Roleplay: Medium
  • Puzzles: Low
