Descent Into Avernus!

About the adventure

Through various methods and circumstances, you have found yourself transported to Avernus, the first layer of Hell and prime battleground for The Blood War between the demons and devils of these planes. With Lulu the magically-optimistic hollyphant as your guide, you will plunge into the depths of the lower planes on a quest to either redeem or destroy Zariel, archduke of Avernus and former archangel. Will you have what it takes to survive the journey, or will Avernus twist your once heroic life into something foul and unrecognizable?

How to prepare

Players will need a working microphone and access to Discord and Astral Virtual Tabletop. Players will need to have a level 5 character sheet ready before the adventure.

What I provide

I will be providing custom art, battle maps through Astral, and homebrew elements such as unique monsters and NPCs in order to make the game feel more immersive and tied to character backstories.

Gameplay details

As it is set in hell, this game may not be appropriate for those who feel strongly about the religious connotations of the setting. However, I'm going to do my best to make this version of hell a silly and thematically overblown environment where characters can still have fun. I'll be downplaying elements of torture and gore, although due to the setting there will likely have to be a certain percentage of such themes.

How will character creation work

Players will be asked to submit a level 5 character sheet for the character they would like to use for this adventure. The easiest way to do this is DNDBeyond, but I'll accept any method you'd like to use as long as it's a legible character sheet. I will ask that you tell me a few of your character's greatest fears as well as a reason why they would be in Avernus as well.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
