D&Duo: Fifth Edition Tutorial Mode for 1-2 Players

About the adventure

New to D&D or to TTRPGs in general? Interested in a wholly personalized experience or just don't have a big enough party together for a traditional D&D campaign? This one's made for you. We'll be playing the Crystalline Curse Trilogy, written by Beth and Jonathan Ball and remixed by you, the player. Players will start at Level 1 and leveling up twice before reaching the end of the campaign. Session 0 will include a short bit of RP and combat at the end for tutorial purposes. Made for one DM and one player, but can totally accommodate 2 players. Your DM will take time to assist in character creation, teach the game during play, and show players how to use Roll20. With DM approval on a case-by-case basis, amnesty may be given at level-ups to swap out spells, rearrange stats, and retcon equipment as new players learn the game.

How to prepare

Do nothing. Chill out. Just do yourself a favor and set up free accounts on Discord and Roll20 so we can dive into Session 0 stuff when we get started.

What I provide

Everything we need is set up online. If you're on Roll20, you'll be able to easily roll ability checks etc by clicking directly on the character sheet we build together. If you have art you wanna use for a character image, I can turn it into a unique token for you.

Gameplay details

You guide most of this. Do you like a lot of roleplay? I'm down. Would you rather zip through and focus on dungeons? We can do it. Want to fully immerse yourselves in the game? I'm ready. Prefer to just meta a bunch? I'll allow it IF that's really how you wanna play it. The tone and pace of the game will totally be led by you, the player. In general, you can expect: • 3 levels of character advancement • a pretty even mix of roleplay, combat, and puzzles • as serious, silly, or gritty as you'll let me make it.

How will character creation work

Pre-generated characters do exist for this campaign, but I find that most players would prefer to make their own. I will guide you through the process and we can keep the process as simple or make it as complex as you'd like. This is YOUR game. In fact, I really love letting my players influence the world around them down to it's history and lore. I'll 'yes-and' most everything you give me and the best bits will remain as canon, influencing the world as future players run through it.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
