About the adventure

When a Thayan research expedition returns from the Glacier of the White Wyrm with only two survivors that are reduced to whispering about an ancient pyramid under the ice, perhaps it is time to discover just what scares the life out of a nation of necromancers. This adventure is part one of the Saga of the Worm series. The parts do NOT need to be played in order. *** content: due to some of the horror themes (body and isolation), I strongly suggest that everyone be ages 18 and up *** For Adventurers League play, you and your allies must all be in the same tier. The game supports tiers 2, 3, or 4. If this game is not played for Adventurers League credit, characters may be of any level, with level 5 or higher strongly suggested. WHY IS THERE ONLY ONE TICKET? There is indeed only one ticket for this game! This is because I'm aiming to run a game for your group. Once you pick up the ticket, if you can send me the email addresses for your other players (maximum 6 players for this game) I will send them complimentary passes for this game.

How to prepare

Things you need to bring/prepare: - your character sheet (this does not need to be digital) - your dice (physical or digital, your call) - an awareness of DDAL rules - a valid level 17+ DDAL character - a webcam AND a microphone (this is a big part of my DM style) NOTE: if you can't provide a webcam and a mic, please feel free to contact me privately so that we can arrange another game at another time that will better fit your needs

What I provide

I have a number of art assets for this adventure, and generally roll physical dice. When I run the AO version of this adventure there are -sometimes-, but not guaranteed, special certs.

Gameplay details

IF PLAYED FOR D&D ADVENTURERS LEAGUE CREDIT: This is a Dungeons & Dragons Adventurers League (DDAL) game. While I don't generally audit character sheets and logs, I do expect you to be familiar with DDAL rules and ready to explain your character options if I'm not familiar with them. It's a big adventuring world out there so sometimes things slip away from me, hah! IF PLAYED FOR HOMEBREW EXPERIENCE: Bring things. I request that the majority of character options be built from Wizards of the Coast published options, but if you have something awesome that you're just super eager to play, please let me know and we'll hash it out! This adventure is intended as largely roleplay and exploration, with combat coming hard and fast. That said, I am very much willing to modify the game to fit the expectations of the players.

How will character creation work

Your character can be on a sheet of paper, a cocktail napkin, tattooed on your thigh, reside in D&D Beyond (this one would be best, in my opinion), or stored somewhere else entirely. I don't mind - I just ask that you show with your character prepared at gametime. If played for D&D Adventurers League credit, characters are expected to be created and used according to DDAL campaign rules.

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: Medium
  • Roleplay: High
  • Puzzles: Low
  • Experience Level: Intermediate
