About the adventure

Introductory campaign for D&D 5th Edition. Adventure length is up to player: - Individual modules will take between 1-4 sessions - Full Adventure will take between 8-10 sessions I am able to run for complete beginners, or veteran players. I like to run a balance of Roleplay, Exploration, and Combat, but will skew the balance as the group sees fit. Pre-made characters are available, or personal characters can be accommodated. I am happy to play online or in-person, with voice- or video-chat enabled. I have run games for children, adults, and mixed groups. Happy to accommodate friend groups, corporate/professional groups, or even Stranger/Pick-up-Groups. ------ The legendary Wave Echo Cave, a grand mine and location of the Forge of Spells has been lost for eons. Three dwarven prospectors have uncovered the secret location of the mine and have asked adventurers to help them scout it out and reopen the mine with the help of the local town of Phandalin. MODULE 1: 1st Level. The party is on their way to meet up with their patron and things go wrong on the road. They must track down their missing patron in a dangerous cave. A dungeon crawl and excellent introduction. MODULE 2: 2nd Level. The party is hounded by a local gang insistent on driving them out of town. The party must find out about the gang's shadowy leader and find their secret hideout. Mystery-solving, roleplay, and dungeon to explore MODULE 3: 3rd Level. The party helps the locals out with a variety of tasks, as they search for where their patron has been taken. Open-ended adventure, with a few dungeons to explore and plenty of chances for roleplay. (This is the longest module, which will likely take 3-4 sessions alone) MODULE 4: 4th Level. Having found the location of their patron, the party attempts to break him out of the grasp of the shadowy figure who seems to be the mastermind of the troubles in Phandalin. A dungeon-crawl with potential for a heist. MODULE 5: 5th Level. Having the knowledge to get to Wave Echo Cave, the party tries to get there and secure it before the forces rallied against them take control of the legendary mine! A large dungeon crawl with plenty to do and see.

How to prepare

A microphone would be preferable for online sessions, but if unable, text chat is fine. Webcam if you would like, and if you want to have your own character, please contact me with details prior to the event. For use of Roll20, a desktop or laptop PC works best for controlling the web page for the best experience, as mobile devices aren't completely compatible (but can be used in a pinch) Otherwise for in-person games, there is no need to bring anything. Character sheets are provided, as are miniatures, battlemaps, pens/pencils, and dice. Of course, if you have lucky dice, feel free to bring them! Finally, I can accommodate a Streamed game, but if you would like to do so, please contact me prior to booking so that we can hash out details.

What I provide

I will bring everything else. Pens, pencils, character sheets, miniatures and battle maps, and everything else necessary

Gameplay details

Streamlined character sheets are available, as well as full character sheets. The ruleset we will use is the full 5e ruleset, able to be streamlined for newer player to eliminate the need to read a full book of rules Variety of Safety Tools used in this game including (but not limited to): X-, N-, and O-Cards; Lines and Veils (which I am happy to discuss before game and lay them out anonymously prior to play); and a Script Change Rating system for the session.

How will character creation work

There are pre-generated characters available. A short, 15 minute intro for new players will have players complete details and learn key details about each others' characters. If a Full Campaign is requested, a free 1-hour session will be offered for Character Creation and building the world around the characters. If you are bringing your own pre-made character, contact me before the game with a brief outline of your character's background and any key relationships they have, and I will build your character into the game.

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: Medium
  • Roleplay: Medium
  • Puzzles: Low
  • Experience Level: Open to all
