D&D 5e: Tyranny of Dragons Platinum Campaign

About the adventure

We will experience the thrills of the epic story “Tyranny of Dragons” consisting of the two D&D adventures "Hoard of the Dragon Queen" and "Rise of Tiamat." This set features neat extras, including: bonus missions, stunning art, and props (shared via cam). We will also enjoy sound effects. These are provided via Syrinscape, experts in ambient effects for tabletop RPGs. Finally, if Adventurers League legal play is chosen, I will mail AL game certs you may earn. You can learn more about and find current campaign documentation at dndadventurersleague.org Tyranny of Dragons is best for players that enjoy challenging and epic play, with sweeping consequences for the world as a reward for success (or failure). If you enjoy the epic tale Lord of the Rings, you already understand the basic story and flow of this adventure. Content Warning: war, assassination, cult activity. Safety tools (including lines/veils and the X Card) will be used during this game. They will be taught to players during the first session.

How to prepare

Players should download all applicable software and have accounts for Roll20 and Zoom. Players should have accounts for D&D Beyond, and download the Chrome extension Beyond 20 (integrating D&D Beyond and Roll20 for our game). While players don’t need to have extensive knowledge of the game, it helps to be somewhat familiar with Roll20 and Zoom, as well as with safety tools.

What I provide

I will provide the materials for the game online, which includes maintaining paid accounts for all the software used and shared (including Zoom, Roll20, Syrinscape, D&D Beyond, and more). I will mail post-game certifications to players. I typically send a D&D-themed gift to players at a campaign's conclusion to thank them for participating.

Gameplay details

A Session 0 is used before the start of all new campaigns, and attendance is required. During this meeting, we get to know each other, discuss the game, and talk about potentially problematic themes. We will be using Safety Tools during this game, including the X Card and Lines & Veils. The use of a camera and microphone is utilized for relationship building and as a safety tool, and as such is required for DM and players.

How will character creation work

Character creation will be standard point buy, using sources published by Wizards of the Coast for 5e. We will create concepts for these characters together, with prompts popular in other games such as FATE. If the group decides for AL-legal play, additional rules may apply to character creation.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
