D&D 5e One-Shot Homebrew- The Stellar Mark

About the adventure

Hello everyone, This is going to be a one-shot home brewed campaign of mine using D&D 5e through Foundry VTT and Discord (which I will provide). It will have roleplay, investigation, and action wrapped up in it and should take roughly 3-4 hours. Looking to find a fun group of players! Open to all ages, but please have seriousness and at least some prior understanding of 5e in order to keep the game flowing and fun for everyone. I will try to make contact with everyone prior to the session in order to get some PC ideas setup and get a little more feel for what to expect and to possibly learn Foundry VTT and Discord. The one-shot will be set up for roughly 3-6 players. Backstories do not need to be elaborate as this is a one-shot, so with this it will be assumed that the group has knowledge of each other and a common kinship but backstory is always welcome as it drives the characters. This one-shot will be a free session as I test startplaying.games and get a feel for its workings. I only ask that players review myself afterwards through the website, and I would also be very keen to have an honest review from the players over chat if you feel comfortable with that. I am open to criticism and believe that is the way to grow as a GM. "A Stellar Mark" Players will start off having all accepted a contract in order to help find a lost Merchant Noble's son in the city of Mor. A city that has high amounts of trade and revenue running through it. Stel Markholm is the youngest son of the Markholm merchant family. He has always taken a liking to the sea and therefor it made the most sense that he would handle the sea trading division of the Markholm family. The Markholm family is a very trusted family name that keeps on the good sides of everyone. Unfortunately Stel did not make it to the dockside warehouse offices one day. He was last seen locking up the offices while the workers went to the local tavern. The family is offering a hefty reward for the safe return of their son for they fear the worst may have happened. You brave group of adventurers have decided to take up this mission and line your pockets!

Additional Details

How to prepare

Have an understanding of base D&D 5e rules and character creation. Please also prepare by having your base PC decided upon so that information will be more plug-and-play when we get to that point. Find a digital portrait you would like to use for your PC as well so that I can create a player token in game. Also have a working headset and mic in order to use through Discord. I will not be using video. Ideally we can meet briefly before the session in order to talk about the game, and setup PC in Foundry VTT.

What I provide

I will be supplying a link to Foundry VTT and Discord for the gameplay with maps. Players will need to have a character and portrait idea.

Gameplay details

The beginning of the gameplay will be more centered around RP and finding information. The middle will have RP but also find action, and the ending of the gameplay will be more focused on the action events.

How will character creation work

Character creation will happen in Foundry VTT, but please have your character base decided prior to playing in order to speed up in game time. PC level will be 4th level with standard array 15,14,13,12,10,8 for stats. Feats are welcome and please choose from standard equipment available. Equipment deviations will be allowed so long as they aren't to extravagant as PC are to be level 4.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
