About the adventure

Ladies & Gentleman! Halflings & Hobgoblins! Bards & Barbarians! May I have your attention please! The Adventurer's Guild and Also Dragons invite everyone to clear their calendars on Saturday, April 20th for a special RPG event, our... DAY OF DICE! Throughout the day, our GMs will be offering a variety of one-shot adventures! Specific details will be included in the Recruiting Notes, to the right, but here is an amuse-bouche of what else is on the menu, being offered by our other fantastic GMs: Madhouse: A Mind-Bending Escape [Charlie] “Come one! Come all! Who will enter the Madhouse? Will you risk your sanity in this Demonic Domicile? This House of Horrors? This Malicious Mansion of Menace? Getting in is the easy part. Getting out, however... Are you fated to fail, or will you be one of the fabled few to find freedom?” Rumble in the Jungle: A Player vs. Player Battle Royale [Erik] Travel to exotic locations! Meet interesting people! Then beat 'em up! In this D&D 5e PvP one-shot, you can create a character or select from over a dozen pre-made combatants before facing off in a free-for-all battle for arena dominance! Worried about an early exit? Fear not, for in this Battle Royale, death is just a new beginning! The Better Part of Planning: A Heist Gone-Wrong [Fitz] Calculating operatives thrive when given blueprints for their greatest job yet, and only the best of the best will do when not a single second of the plan can afford to go off the rails. But when all else fails... what is it that they say about improvisation? A Demonic Threat: A Story in Three Acts [Trey] Join one of three squads as they each make a strategic, coordinated attack on a cult of demon worshipers threatening the realm. Your squad's success is important, but will it be enough? These adventures will conclude with a climactic GM narrative, the details of which will be decided by the combined results of all three squads' actions.

How to prepare

Players will need accounts with D&D Beyond, Roll20, and Discord in order to participate in the one shot. Please have a mic or headset that allows for clear communication, and headphones are appreciated as they cut down on echo in the call. Aside from that, please come with a positive and enthusiastic attitude!

What I provide

I bring an enthusiastic effort to voice act all of the NPCs, I provide custom maps for the one shot, and I will do my best to immerse you in the setting with music and tone setting narrative. I am an "in the spirit of the rules/Rule of Cool" Dungeon Master who encourages and enables players to come up with creative ideas that evolve into fantastic gameplay moments. This is your story, I'm just here to narrate.

Gameplay details

As this is a one shot, there will not be time for a Session 0. It is on you, the player, to ask questions about what to expect prior to the start of the session. However, with the use of X, N, & O's, you have full freedom to express discomfort and request a change in the course of what happens. Your safety and enjoyment are my number one priority as your Dungeon Master, and I will not continue on a course that will make you feel unsafe if it is brought up in the moment.

How will character creation work

Players will have a list of NPCs to choose from, so there's no need to worry about stats, levels, or any of those details. Characters will be assigned on a first come first serve basis, and I would politely request that at the end of the adventure you unassign yourself from the character so that it can be used by future players.

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: Medium
  • Roleplay: Medium
  • Puzzles: Medium
  • Experience Level: Intermediate
